Luke 6:15-16

A Christian impact player does not have to be well-known and recognized. The three least known disciples of Jesus are powerful examples of how God can use all of us on his team today. Judas (not Iscariot), Simon the Zealot, and James the Less model for us the importance of having a vision for world missions, a properly-directed passion for the Gospel, and to serve and be the voice for the “little guys” of this world. There is a place on the team for you to serve!

Haggai 2:20-23

As we conclude our time in Haggai, we are called to be ready, righteous, reaching, and rejoicing.

Ruth 1:1-6

.

In the days of no king, every person does what is right in their on eyes. This applies to each of us as we look away from Yahweh for salvation. This compares to our contemporary world amid the political upheaval and social unrest. The question we must answer is are we willing to distance our self from the Christ we love to the charms of a distant call? Ruth gives us a great example of what to do.

Haggai 2:10-19

Todays scripture passage concerns the third message that Haggai delivered to the inhabitants of Jerusalem in 520 B.C. In this message, the Lord uses him to prompt the people to move from mere physical activity in response to the command of God to rebuild the temple and now, greater still encourages them to pursue God’s righteousness within their hearts. We will consider Haggai’s two question inquiry, the implication the answers bring, and God’s invitation to respond by “looking within”!

John 20:24-2

Many people refer to the disciple Thomas as “Doubting Thomas.” While he did have a challenging experience where he had some questions, Thomas is able to move forward with strong faith in Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Let’s apply some of Thomas’s actions in our lives, so that our faith in Christ will grow stronger.

Peter was a strong disciple whom God used in a powerful way. But he also went through some painful spiritual failures, including a stretch of time where he denied that he even knew Jesus. But Peter finished strong! Let’s learn from his example how, with God’s mercy and power, each of us can both minimize our failures and move from failure to victory.

John 1:35-42

Immediately after Andrew becomes a follower of Christ, he starts inviting others to do the same. Let’s learn how to reach out and share the Best News of the Gospel with people across the room, across the street, and around the world. Until Jesus comes back, we must go!

As we embark on a new series from the book of Haggai we are encouraging you to do four things:

Reflect on God’s purpose for your life individually, for our lives corporately, and for Salem’s buildings and grounds.

Recognize and call out your misplaced priorities.

Repent of your misguided paths and selfish pursuits.

Renew your commitment to pursue the Lord’s will for your life.
