2 Corinthians 1:3-11

Paul was comforted and he wanted to comfort others through the Spirit of God. God can comfort us in many ways, but here are six points for you to consider and reflect upon.

Exodus 20/Psalm 1

In Exodus 20, there is an important transition in the Exodus story. The Lord by the grace of his mighty hand had brought the Israelites out of Egypt and was preparing his people to go into the promised land. He would now give them His righteous Word along with the rules and regulations for worship. He had called them to live distinctly different lives from the nations around them that they might display his wondrous grace and mercy towards them that they might in fact be a witness to others of what they might receive as well. In this message we look specifically to the value of God’s word in our lives.

Matthew 5:13-16

2020 has been a year filled with the division and strife in our society. This is nothing new in the story of human history. In similar times, Jesus taught his followers that they were to influence the culture for his kingdom. To illustrate this truth he declared his people to be salt and light. In this message we consider what it looks like to be the salt of the earth in our time.

Luke 15:11-24

In the parable of the prodigal son, Jesus encourages us to avoid the “Me Life” and to know that we and others can always come home to our awesome, seeking and saving Father in heaven.

Luke 15:1-10

What will we do for those who are not yet followers of Christ? Will we love them or judge them? Let’s join God in his search and rescue mission by intentionally reaching  out, and we will experience the incredible joy of the Lord!

Exodus 19 is another point of transition in the story of the Exodus! God is preparing His people to receive his Righteous Word and his rules/requirements of Holy Worship. Throughout Scripture we find examples of how God prepares people for specific acts of worship and ministry - Noah, Joseph, Nehemiah, John the Baptist, etc... In Exodus 19, we find several principles: God desires hearts that are holy, fear that is healthy, trust that is active, and the focus that is fixed!

1 Corinthians 9

Life is a pursuit. The question is: what are you pursuing? Paul encourages the church of Corinth in 1 Corinthians 9 to pursue Christ above all. To actively walk out their faith as “runners in a race.” How are you running?
