This is a special episode recorded at Lagunitas Brewery in Petaluma. This a supershow recorded with James and Jonesy from our brother podcast Grab a Beer and Jacket. The folks at Lagunitas graciously opened their doors during their annual Blues concert and we had a great time. A great pork nacho, blues, beer filled time.
This week we welcome in to the podcast local music producer extraordinaire Roland Lagoy. Roland has been producing music locally for as long as anyone we ask can remember. After producing music locally for years Roland tried his hand at some freelance work and now his music can be heard anywhere from video games to movies. We also play another round of Stump Cujo w/ Sports!
This weeks episode was recorded way too late on a weekday so things got weird quickly. This episode also features an introduction to a group of artists we will be working with more in the future, Moonlight Productions. They are a group of Salinas hip-hop artists dedicated to changing their community using the written word.
Salinas Underground is back with another episode. In this episode Baldo recounts his adventure of becoming a waiter on Saturday with 6 hour notice. Also we try out a new segment called "Know Shit Idea", which promises to deliver simple solutions to lifes complicated problems. We also update you on the burrito competition we are planning plus much more madness.
This episode takes us back to the lair to record an episode. Baldo was called back to the mothership for the weekend, so this episode is being held down by Cujo and Posole. Mando also joins the action to talk about some of the best concerts they guys have ever been to.
Baldo, Cujo, and Posole are back with another episode of Salinas Underground! In this episode Baldo talks about Levis Stadium and its first ever sporting event, a game between the Seattle Sounders and the Earthquakes. Also he talks about the highlight of the trip, a Brazilian steakhouse in Santana Row. The guys also discuss the problem people living along the HWY 68 corridor have with venturing to Salinas and ways to bring together a very segregated city.
In this episode we migrate a couple blocks down from our home at the XL Public House to the Cherry Beans open mic event for First Fridays. This was our first time there so we kept the episode short but packed it with a bunch of great content. We also chat with Rebecca from the Midnight Thieves after her acoustic set.
We have been at this podcast thing for just about 4 months now and our audience has grown tremendously! So we decided to do an episode focused on the listener. Are we talking about topics that interest you? How can you listen to Salinas Underground everywhere you are? How can I be a guest on the show? Who the hell are these guys, anyway? Why Salinas Underground? All those questions and many more are answered in one neat little one hour episode.
This week we welcome Joel a local musician that plays everything from Jazz to ancient Sumerian jams. This guy lives and breathes music and if you enjoy it as well you are going to want to hear this interview. Listen as Joel drops his wisdom and advice, if you want to start playing an instrument, this episode is a must!
This mini-episode is all about our contest to give away a pair of San Jose Earthquakes tickets and two pairs of Gilroy Garlic Festival tickets. Listen and good luck!
