SallyPAL (Sally's Performing Arts Laboratory) podcast is an audio show for folks who long to produce original work on the stage.
Ep 6 features recent graduate of the University of Oklahoma Peggy V. Helmerich School of Drama, Weston Vrooman. Wes' reviews in Oklahoma papers reveal him as a rising theatrical talent referring to his most recent performance in Oklahoma’s Shakespeare in the Park as “comically brilliant”. People who know Weston would add he is compassionate, deep, and a whole lot of fun. Wes played the role of Noah, the outsider, in Emile Adams’ play, "I Wish You Actually Liked Me (and Other Familial Impossibilities)". He acts, he sings, he makes videos, and he’s been the most recent student graphic designer for the Helmerich School of Drama. We discuss how new voices can support diversity in casting and why he knows Swahili. Be sure to listen until the end for my new segments, Concise Advice from the interview, Words of Wisdom from George, and maybe an outtake.
