There are only a few people who can say that they are anointed in the arts with more than one gifting, and today we will meet one of my former students Krystel Doudera who is an amazing Visual Artist and Dance Minister. Krystel's experience will move you to at minimum just try to do something for God…get out of your comfort zone to experience what He might have for you, teach you that you have more to offer than what you think you have to give back as an offering to Him.

Effectively Applying Artistic Layers/Layering 

Several years back, I created this term for the purposes of providing a definition or description within my Creatives Workshop to assist the Worship Arts Leader, Youth Pastor, or Children/Youth Church Directors in creating meaningful worship centered projects, events, and/or productions to enhance and infused the Arts into the Worship Experience. 

Artistic Layers/Layering defined is:

"The layering of one main platform of a genre of Art that is shared in sync with other platforms to create a different experience during the Worship Service."

Utilizing this technique, requires a bit of home work just a any Art Project whether its Choreography, Visual Arts, or as simple as preparing the list of songs for Praise and Worship. Artistic Layering enables you to create a focused message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a language where they can hear His voice and desire to know Him better.

Today, to assist with the definition of Artistic Layering, I reference my article from my website Salt and Light Arts entitled "Artistic Layers - Uniting the Genres of Christian Arts"

Welcome Back!

This is the fourth and final in this series of the History of the Arts and God, so if you missed the others, take a moment to go back and get caught up. We have been reviewing God’s artistic designs/plans for the Artifacts to be utilized during Worship. Today, we will unpack His artistic design for the Golden Lampstand or Menorah.

The purpose of this series was to lay a foundation of how God, Himself infused the Arts into the Worship service and to serve as encouragement to budding Artisans that your gifts and talents are important. It is my hope that you have been inspired to go back through the Bible to receive support in His Word concerning the use and need of the Arts.

I have enjoyed working on this study and I am available if you have any questions or comments about how to infuse the Arts into the Worship service.

And, as a reminder for those who are collecting items for your Artisan Toolbox, the Bible is a pretty good tool to start with and possibly the best Tool in your Artisan Toolbox.  For this study, I will be using the “Inspired By…The Bible Experience:  The Complete Bible – Today’s New International Version, TNIV: Old Testament (Exodus 25:31-40 & Exodus 27:20-21), Zondervan, 2007”
