"A boy grows up spending his days amongst the trees. Through his daily visits of climbing, playing and swinging from branches, he develops a loving friendship with the tree and her saplings. But, the boy grows up.

His visits become few and far between and he loses his affection for the natural world. He follows his lineage into the field of logging; therefore he must choose between protecting or slaughtering his beloved family of trees. Nikolay co-wrote, co-produced and stars in the film directed by the late Nathan Hewitt. The film premiered of the Omaha Film Festival where it won best narrative short.

We conclude our coverage of Dances with Films 2023 by talking to filmmaker Barry Rubinow. Barry is an Emmy Award winning filmmaker whose new documentary Banded Together: The Boys from Glen Rock High screens today at 4:45PM PST (7/2/23) at the TLC Chinese Theater in Hollywood.

I loved the film and the fact that all of these incredible musicians (Lee Shapiro, the Vivino brothers and John Feeney just to name a few) came from one high school during the same era is remarkable.

Today we begin our coverage of the 2023 Wyoming International Film Festival. I'll be traveling to the festival so I was excited to get the chance to speak with its executive director, Rudi Womak.

Rudi gives us some history of the festival as well as some very exciting things to look forward to during that week.

The festival runs from Wednesday July 4 - Sunday July 9, 2023. You can purchase a festival pass for only $50. There will be over 150 films with 20+ different countries represented. Plus live music, dancing, art exhibits, etc. Well worth the price of admission.
