Same Time Next Week

So a few things have happened since the last time you heard from us: Spring has arrived, the weather is perfect, the nation/globe is shut down, the economy is in the tank, and we are using new words like "Covid" or "social distancing" and pretending we know what those mean. Much has changed but fear no more your trusty podcast therapist' are here to guide you through these trying times by pretending like we are ok. In this episode we give you some practical ways you can keep some what balanced during this time of uncertainty. Craig and I are not experts in navigating pandemics, however we are pretty adept at dealing with chaos. Join us as we try forge a path into the unknown territory of quarantining in your own house. In this Episode we discuss Change and how many Changes both Craig and Roe have been through in the last 6 months (who's counting really?). Change is vital part of growing and yet it so difficult to go through changes. No one likes change, but we all crave it and better yet we need it. We're back! When should we be authentic and when should we keep it to ourselves? This week Craig and Roe discuss what it means to be your authentic self, why that is difficult for us, and how to be a bit more authentic. STNW!

The Dog Days of Summer are upon us. The children are back to school and the break is over. The "Struggle" is real. Today Craig and Roe talk about being supportive of someone you might love who is struggling. We all struggle sometimes but many of us dont know how to respond to someone who is really struggling. In this episode we address some common tips and practices to get conversations going and responding to the person appropriately. Thank you all for listening!

This weeks he talks with Craig and Roe about his ongoing research on alcohol use, marijuana, and reducing negative consequences among college students. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is probably the most well researched therapeutic intervention to help us to make lasting changes in our lives and start living the life that we want to live. Season 2 of STNW gets started off with probably my favorite guest yet, my Dad Roane Hunter Sr., but Im biased, but i really believe this one was good. My father joins Craig and myself to talk about what it means to be a "father." As I am rapidly approaching being a new dad, Craig and I thought it would be a great idea to sit down with my dad and talk what it was like for him to be a dad, the work he does with men, and basically a whole bunch "pro tips." We touch on all sorts of insightful topics from family dynamics, dealing with different personalities, and how to disclose hard truth about yourself to your kids. I have to admit this was a lot of fun and I am so elated to share this episode and I hope it offers you a model of connection with your kids. Happy Fathers Day from the Same Time Next Week.
