Two years after the brutal shooting of prominent Schertz businessman Henry Gutierrez Jr. at his home, police are still searching for breakthrough evidence about who pulled the trigger. Gutierrez, 71, was found dead in his home the day before Christmas 2015, a blanket draped over his body. His truck was among the belongings missing. A $75,000 reward by CrimeStoppers — one of the largest to be offered in Texas — hasn’t generated any breakthrough tips about who killed the owner of Bexar Waste, which held contracts with several area municipalities. But Schertz police Lt. Schlitterbahn Waterparks co-owner Jeffrey Wayne Henry has been arrested in connection with the 2016 decapitation death of a 10-year-old at the New Braunfels company’s Kansas park. A San Antonio 16-year-old who refused an arranged marriage endured over six months of almost daily abuse, including a beating that left her with a 2-inch gash and a choking that almost caused unconsciousness, according to newly-released court records. Maarib Al Hishmawi’s parents, Abdulah Fahmi Kala Al Hishmawi, 34, and Hamdiyah Sabah Al Hishmawi, 33, were released on $30,000 bonds after being arrested on felony charges of continuous family violence. According to a search warrant from the Bexar County Sheriff's Office, the Al Hishmawi's regularly beat Maarib with broom handles and mop handles.
