In Luke 22:39-46 Jesus offers the most important prayer ever prayed. It is the most important prayer because it establishes the template for every prayer we pray.

Jesus teaches his disciples concerning the last day in Luke 17, and then in Luke 18:1-8 he encourages them to pray as a way to avoid losing hope.

Why should we be confident when we pray? In Luke 11:5-13 Jesus gives us a series of images to bolster our confidence in how he answers prayer.

Jesus describes the prayer of a hypocrite. However, the way Jesus defines a hypocrite is different from what we may think. Look at Matthew 6:5-8 and see how we can examine the intent of our praying so that we do not pray hypocritical prayers.

This week we will look at Jesus' teaching on prayer and will see what Jesus means when he says, "whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." We will be reading Mark 11:12-25.

Sometimes God answers prayer immediately. Sometimes God takes us through a process where he gives us more than we ever thought to ask for. Today we see how God uses the process of prayer in Habakkuk 3.

When word comes to Nehemiah that the walls of Jerusalem are in shambles he prays, but his prayer reflects a knowledge of God's revealed will and a willingness to do it. Today we look at Nehemiah 1 to see how a servant leader prays.

In Daniel 9, Daniel prays a prayer to God to ask God to do what God had promised to do 70 years prior to that. Today we see the importance of asking God to be faithful to his promises.

Jonah prays to God to be rescued and God answered him, but how serious was Jonah's prayer? Is it possible to offer a good prayer without really meaning it? Today we will look at Jonah 2 to answer those questions.

In 2 Chronicles 6 Solomon prays as the temple is dedicated. The purpose of the temple has a lot of similarities with the purpose of prayer. In some ways this prayer is a lesson about prayer itself.
