Sarah-Soonling Blackburn is an Educator and a Personal Development Trainer, who received her Doctorate from John Hopkins University . Her area of focus centers around developing strategies to optimize learning environments within classroom culture with an emphasis on diversity, equity and inclusiveness. I came across a few of her writings on the Asian American experience in the classroom and stumbled upon the model minority myth, we discuss this stigma, what it means, how it affects the psychology of Asian Americans and what we can do to further efforts in solidarity with all cultures. I was deeply appreciative of her level of candor and willingness to share this personal and often unspoken about experience.
