#54: Sarah Young is the Director of college women's golf ministry with Global Golf. Sarah grew up in New Zealand and moved to Stillwater, OK on a college golf scholarship at Oklahoma State University. She was a standout student athlete and excelled in her freshman year earning all Big 12 freshman team honors. One day before she was supposed to return back to Stillwater she and her father were involved in a severe head on car collision. It took paramedics over 2 hours to get her out of what was left of the car and she suffered a traumatic brain injury and memory loss.
In the show she talks about her journey from being a person whose identity was based in athletics and golf, as well as overcoming what many would tell her was never possible, which was to play the sport she loved again. Through many individuals support and encouragement and her own discipline and determination she trained and was able to get back to playing.
Sarah’s story is a great encouragement to never let anyone tell you you can’t do something. Her faith story is incredible and she is making a huge impact on so many!
