Season 2: The Great Weird North
Episode 11: Saskatchewan
On September 1, 1905, Saskatchewan became Canada’s 9th province. Here, in the land of the Wheat Kings, a lot of weird things have happened and in this episode we’ll share a couple of our favourites. First, there is the incredible story of the madman/genius/prophetic letter writer Tom Sukanen who dedicated his life to building a boat with his own two hands to sail from landlocked Saskatchewan to Finland. Then, we take a dark turn into a story of Satanic Panic that caused what would become known as the Martensville Nightmare.
