Original broadcast November 16, 2015
The hit song "Slings and Arrows from the title track of the album has been the opening and closing theme for SaskScapes thanks to Jeffery Straker! The Saskatchewan born singer/songwriter has established himself as one of the most successful (and busiest) artists this province has produced, and has gone on to international acclaim. Kevin Power joins Jeffery in a conversation that is more fun than two people ought to have in a podcast! And, it's another "6 degrees" moment as Jeffery reveals his musical lineage which connects him to Beethoven and Chopin. Even Jeffery is part of Taron Cochran's 6-degrees world.

Originally released on October 22, 2015. There are some sad updates in the introduction to this rebroadcast.
The Happy Nun Cafe (www.thehappynuncafe.com), located in Forget, had all the ambience of a country cafe with a menu that is as sophisticated as they come. The Happy Nun was a dream-come-true for owner/chef Katie Vinge, and this podcast is a dream come true for Kevin. Welcome to the first SaskScapes story slam recorded live on site. Patrons dined on a delicious menu and brave centre stage sharing heart-felt, moving and hilarious stories about their lives. A truly magical evening!

This is a re-release of the podcast originally recorded in 2014. All of the guests have moved forward in their lives since then, still active in the arts community within and outside of Saskatchewan.
A continuation of SaskScapes podcast number 3. Could two bales of compressed recycled material placed on a busy downtown intersection possibly be art? What’s that supposed to be anyway? Somebody funded that?! Artist Keeley Haftner and 6 other artists debate the merit of their work, and may have you rethinking how you look at art.

This is the tenth in a series entitled "German Culture Alive”, a special "SaskScapes Podcast presents" feature sponsored by the Saskatchewan German Council. Visit the website to learn more about the non-profit organization, its mandate, and outreach.
Love it or not, there is no denying that the old-tyme sounds of polka and "oompah" are alive and well. It may be a tough sell for some, but if you open your heart and your ears and set your toes a-tappin' you'll be hooked. It's near impossible to have a bad day after listening to this style of music! In this episode Kevin Power spends time with the Saskatoon Concordia Brass band as they rehearse for their spring 2023 performance. The first of many they will have this year. These folks are committed to this style of music, and they are committed to each other as fellow band members - always there to support whether good day or bad. Kevin also pops in on a special guest who is a walking encyclopedia of music in Saskatchewan and beyond, and a self-professed lover of the polka since childhood.
