Jingshu (Jess) Zhu grew up in the Sichuan province of China, moved to the Netherlands to study Human Rights Law, and from there, for the past 5 years, hosts a love and sex podcast for people in China and the Chinese diaspora, called Four Gifts (love, play, spirituality and fortune). She has done a lot of work in particular for the well-being of LGBTQ people and sex workers. ~

How to constantly renew ourselves and our relationships could fill a whole year of podcasts. ~ 

Last episode I introduced the idea of staying inspired by 3 evolving paths at the same time: yours, theirs, and the relationship's, even sourcing great juiciness and longevity from some of our most vulnerable experiences and feelings, while enjoying the relationship as a blessed opportunity to discover life itself. ~ 

This time I start with some of the more so-called superficial things we do, and why they're equally helpful - a new look, a vacation, new activities, and yes new positions meaning new ways of discovering and lavishing each other's bodies. And I follow it back to the fundamental of you and them as sacred beings, social, natural, with so much to discover, bit by bit, as life allows, as we make room for what really matters to us. ~ 

Again this is by no means an expert opinion, it is just a few ideas and heaps of encouragement for the amazing person you already are. ~

Can you have a relationship that constantly renews itself with exciting energy of discovery, or are relationships doomed to honeymoon, flatten out, and die or else become living dead negotiated tolerance? Is it just one hot new move that's needed, or a whole change of attitude? ~

These are some of the great questions we'll start listening to here, and let the answers come from... you! (with a few practical suggestions here from me too) Because everyone has within them a world to discover, and hopefully the person we're in relationship with - whatever kind of relationship - we are with not just for convenience or because we have some idea of who we want them to be, but because we love them! we see them, we want to discover them even as they change, and we do that for ourselves too, and they do that for us. ~

It's a simple magic formula that I guarantee you costs nothing and requires no expert other than yourself and them, and can work forever. But, it requires us to be honest, and very open to life. And, it perfectly coexists with the very important healthy narrowings down we have to comfortable routines, a good groove in lovemaking, and elsewhere in the relationship, so we have energy and focus for elsewhere in our lives too. ~
