Jingshu (Jess) Zhu grew up in the Sichuan province of China, moved to the Netherlands to study Human Rights Law, and from there, for the past 5 years, hosts a love and sex podcast for people in China and the Chinese diaspora, called Four Gifts (love, play, spirituality and fortune). She has done a lot of work in particular for the well-being of LGBTQ people and sex workers. ~
Her website, jingshu.love tells more... "Having been through childhood sexual trauma and various forms of psychosomatic disorders in relation to that for many years, I never really knew what safe and authentic connection felt like. Luckily, with the help of meditation, circling, psychedelics, and authentic-relating community, I have walked through the valley of my own shadow, and discovered my gift in connecting with my own power, with my loved ones, with nature, and with spirituality (in its broadest sense)." ~
Like other episodes in our love and sex around the world series, the chat starts with some of the values learned from family and school, cultural strengths, and the challenges of equality, safety, and freedom/pleasure. But then Jingshu takes us deep into finding out what's possible with your gifts in life, mind-body-spirit speed-healing, and her amazing modeling of authentic relating. Thank you Jingshu for sharing the benefits of all you have integrated from within and from so many other valuable places. It's a breath of fresh air, a real alternative to the world of taboos, shoulds, and other limitations we learn. ~
