With the announced departures of mainstays Kate McKinnon (sad!), Aidy Bryant (sad!!), Pete Davidson (yep) and Kyle Mooney (sure), this episode was bound to be a tearjerker, but at least Lorne picked a host who understood the assignment.

Finally, a double duty that made sense! Queen of Yitty Lizzo honored the halls of Studio 8H with her presence and came out swinging home runs. We loved this episode and it was about damn time for Lizzo to show the girls how to do it right (take notes, Adele)!

A boy in Los Angeles was once told he could sing, and he hasn't stopped since. Former white boy of the month Jake Gyllenhaal returned to SNL where he failed to remind us why he's relevant. Speaking of relevant, pop question mark Camila Cabello graced the stage (without Ed Sheeran, thankfully) and somehow kept her place in Candice's On Repeat playlist on Spotify.

Rothaniel is a great, heartbreaking and edifying comedy special on HBO Max where Jerrod Carmichael sits in a chair and dishes the dirt. But at the end of the day, Carmichael is a writer and that showed in this episode of SNL, where he played a clumsy pallbearer and Bowen Yang's husband.
