Saturday Nights at Prestonwood Baptist Church - Audio

Are you hopeful for Christ's return? Are you patently waiting? Are you living wisely? Are you prepared to meet God? Teaching Pastor Jarrett Stephens continues the Why Believe series from Luke 17:20-37.

Jesus is coming back. Are we ready? We are His crown of joy, He is concerned for us, desires for us to grow in knowledge of the Truth & in love for Him and for one another. He wants us to trust Him for everyday decisions & to let Him guide us through life. He wants to produce in us what we cannot produce in ourselves- agape love, joy, peace & all the fruit of the Spirit. Let's make prayer-God directed lives a priority this year!

The primary reason God came to earth was to save the lost. And He rejoices greatly when that mission is accomplished. When THIS happens...all of Heaven rejoices...when THIS happens...the Father rejoices...when THIS happens it seems as if everyone rejoices...everyone is enjoying the celebration except one person.

Ultimately, we can't protect our children. You can do everything right, but they have a free will, and some rebel...just like the young prodigal son in this story from Luke. But take hope that just like in this story, God will lead your son or daughter to a point of need...to the end of themselves...that they will come to their senses...and think of home.

Our God is a God of joy! This is His heart! He loves to rejoice...and NOTHING brings Him more joy...NOTHING makes Him rejoice more than the lost being found.

God's mission is your mission. The Bible tells us in John 17:18 - "As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world." Join in this mission. Roll up your sleeves, and like Jesus, associate with those who don't know Him. Get your hands dirty in serving people far from God...love them...and show through your own life how our great God is pursuing them.

In this powerful message from Luke, we see Jesus teaching using a contrast between a rich man and a poor man named Lazarus. One was a "have" while the other was a "have not." The parable gives us insight on how the choices they made here on Earth affect what happens to us when we die.

At the end of the day, Jesus knows that we will either use our money and possessions or our money and possessions will use us...that's why He says, "no servant can have two masters." Let's continue together leveraging and using all that we have...all that He has entrusted to us...to build His Kingdom...further His agenda...and see that His name is worshipped in all the earth. It's what wise stewards do.

Guest speaker J. John delivers a powerful message from Matthew 11:25-30.

Jesus is coming back...it is a fact! And we better be waiting eagerly...watching continuously...and working faithfully. This IS our responsibility. Are you ready? It's the most important question you may ever answer.
