Hazardous Weather Outlook. This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for southeast Georgia and southeast South Carolina. Day one. Today and tonight. Dense Fog: Areas of fog will continue through sunrise this morning, and some of the fog will be dense. If the coverage of the dense fog is widespread enough a Dense Fog Advisory would be required. Days two through seven. Sunday through Friday. Severe Thunderstorms: A weak cold front will approach the area from the west on Sunday and scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected to move across southeast South Carolina and southeast Georgia. A few of these thunderstorms could become severe, and the primary threat will be damaging wind gusts. The main time period for severe thunderstorms will be the afternoon hours. Spotter information statement. Spotter assistance is not anticipated at this time.
Special Weather Statement. Patchy dense fog will linger through sunrise. Areas of fog will remain across the inland counties of southeast Georgia and the South Carolina Lowcountry early this morning. The fog may become locally dense, especially over areas that received rainfall on Friday. The patchy dense fog may reduce visibilities to around a quarter of a mile on area roadways. By 9 AM, the patchy dense fog should dissipate. Precautionary/preparedness actions. If driving, slow down and leave extra distance ahead of you in case a sudden stop is needed.
