Save File Corrupted?!

EVO 2K13 was well into the Street Fighter IV AE grand finals while we were recording this episode of Save File Corrupted?! So as you can imagine, there was plenty of EVO talk to be had. We reacted to Justin Wong's narrow loss to Flocker in the Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 championship match (19:40), the announcement of Ultra Street Fighter IV (02:59), Noel “Chris” Brown’s untimely imprisonment (26:01) and Nintendo pulling and then reinstating EVO’s permission to stream Super Smash Bros. (39:21). We also talk about Steam teaming up with Twitchtv (36:50),Persona 4 Arena (45:16), Last of Us (1:17:15) and Hideo Kojima feeling “depressed” over GTA V (1:03:09).

In this episode of Save File Corrupted?! we enjoy an open letter credited to Don Mattrick, Microsoft's now former President of Interactive Entertainment Business, who gives his heartfelt thoughts on fan reaction to the Xbox ONE. We touch on what's going on in the fighting game community, including the latest happenings in the CEO tournament. We report on a couple amusing stories including Saints Row 4 being banned in Australia due to its "alien anal probe" weapon and Naughty Dog living up to its namesake and "accidentally" including phone sex numbers in Last of Us. We also nerd out over Just Add Water, the developer remaking Oddworld, volunteering to remake Metal Gear Solid as well as why Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is the best game in the series!

This episode of Save File Corrupted?! is essentially a 2-hour news dump following E3. We discuss public enemy number one, Microsoft's Xbox ONE as well as the console people actually want, Sony's PlayStation 4. We discuss a plethora of upcoming games, everything from Rainbow 6, Battlefield 4, and Metal Gear Solid V to Marvel vs Capcom 4, Final Fantasy XV, Zelda and the Witcher 3. Just to name a few. We also talk a bit about new 'Free-to-Play' games, Cloud computing and the end of online passes for EA.

In this episode of Save File Corrupted?! we discuss the amazing features of the upcoming Xbox One console. You know, all of the games we have to look forward to like Netflix and Hulu. I mean, Call of Duty: Ghosts, complete with combat dog! Additionally, we talk about actual games like Ni no Kuni, Max Payne 3, Far Cry 3, Tomb Raider and a bit about the BioShock Infinite controversy as well.

In this extra special episode of Save File Corrupted?! we joined by two, count 'em, two very special guests! Returning to Save File Corrupted?! is DirkaDurka as well as The Spawn of Dirka, Ira! As is often the case when DirkaDurka joins us, we reminisce on the once great MMO, World of Warcraft. We also discuss the VP of dickery, Joe Biden, who's wanting to tax violent video games, the disappointment of Asura's Wrath, as well as EA's Senior Engineer declaring the Wii U to be "crap". And that conversation eventually transformed into a discussion about the inevitable fall of Nintendo.

This time around we investigate a story about a gamer who claimed to be disabled only to miraculously rise from his wheelchair. We also give you our opinion on the co-op bro-fest that is Army of Two: Devil's Cartel. Agamemnon and BobbyBeatle fawn over the original Devil May Cry quadrilogy and how the latest DMC failed to live up to its predecessors. Additionally, we report on Nintendo Korea's weather girl, twitter faux pas!

We're joined by friend of the show, DirkaDurka, in this episode of Save File Corrupted?! We give our impressions on BioShock Infinite as well as The Witcher 2 and of course it wouldn't be Save File Corrupted?! if we didn’t reminisce on Mass Effect. We also talk a little on retro gaming before segueing into a debate about Ubisoft's claim that the gaming industry can only handle 10 triple A games per year. Throughout the second half of the show, we discuss developers failing forward, the dumbing down of gaming, specifically World of Warcraft (WoW) and we refute Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja being the future of gaming.

In episode 13 of Save File Corrupted?! we rejoice at Capcom's announcement that SNK VS Capcom 2 will be coming to the PlayStation Network. We also dive into the rampant sexism in the gaming industry, specifically as it relates to female leads. Additionally, Prometheus rages over Deux Ex: Director's Cut being a Wii U exclusive as well as the creator of the Skullgirls Pr0n joining Lab Zero, Skullgirls' developer. Quite the resume, I know.

Sometimes we make mistakes, horrible mistakes with terrible repercussions. Sometimes we’re fortunate enough to have some other poor sap make those mistakes for us so we don’t have suffer the consequences. Then there are times where instead of learning from the mistakes of others, BLIZZARD, we, or in this case, EA are unable to pull their proverbial head from their ass. And instead of having a successful release of Sim City it’s instead an avoidable debacle, marred by DRM. As I’m sure you’ve already figured out we discuss EA’s “miscalculation” with their release of the heavily anticipated, Sim City. We also talk about Lord British bringing challenging RPGs back, a Last of Us demo, the lead designer for Watch Dogs leaving to work on Need for Speed, Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, Willem Dafoe joining beyond Two Souls, Yipes and Dieminion leaving Brokentier, Tomb Raider and the announcement of a new Deus Ex!
