Save the Last Pod

In Texas football is a way of life, but in rural Pennsylvania, milling steel is a way of life, and football is simply a means to an end – at least it was in the 1983 gritty realist high school drama All the Right Moves!

This week on Save the Last Pod, your favorite forman and floor supervisor dive into our first Cruise! In this episode, Amy and Dan take you back to the early 80s when Tom Cruise was just 20 years old, making all the right moves in his career and some of the right moves in this film.

They talk all things Cruise and surprisingly all things Billy Joel while they take a hard look at how post-industrial America pushed teens to move out of their small hometowns.

Are we your favorite teen movie podcast? If so, rate and review us on Apple Podcasts. Just like last week, and the week before, if you leave us a comment nominating your favorite teen movie characters for Senior Superlatives, we'll read it on air. We are also doing giveaways for happy holiday Amazon gift cards - listen to the intro for more details!

Hallowteen rolls on as we visit an eerie secluded island in the Pacific Northwest where evil hides in plain sight. It's Disturbing Behavior!

This week on Save the Last Pod, your favorite Blue Ribbons dish about a classic 1998 James Marsden/Katie Holmes vehicle. In this episode, Amy & Dan discuss spooky folktales, buying beer in high school, and ask what exactly is Cook's Ridge Trash? It's still Hallowteen on STLP and we're getting pretty scared because we just spent 2 hours in a witches' coven! We watched The Craft!

This week on Save the Last Pod, your Wiccan buds break down a classic 1996 feminist goth tale. In this episode, Amy & Dan talk about their relationship to witchcraft, Ouija boards, practical snakes and appropriate high school sports to have cheerleaders. Sage the room, make a circle with salt just in case and chant along with us, "Light as a feather, stiff as a board!"

Covens might be strongest with 4, but Apple Podcast ratings are best with 5. So rate us 5 Stars! Just like last week, and the week before, if you leave us a comment telling us what exactly you think a "Lisa" is, we'll read it on air.

For the second week in a row, it's a teenage sex comedy that doesn't feature any sex. It's Easy A!

This week on Save the Last Pod, your favorite couple breaks down Emma Stone's 2010 breakout role. In this episode, Amy & Dan talk about the hierarchy of high school factions, the delight that is Amanda Bynes and Amy's script coverage connection to this film. It's episode three, and that means it's time to dip a toe into the John Hughes canon. It begins with the Sultan of School's horniest film. It's Weird Science!

This week on Save the Last Pod, your favorite 80's babies break down Hughes' 1985 big-haired follow up to the instant classic The Breakfast Club. In this episode, Amy & Dan talk about iconic 80's babe moments, excellent fashion choices and they pontificate about what exactly Lisa is. Take a shower, strap a bra on your head and download today to let us take you back to a time before Robert Downey Jr. fixed his teeth!
