Story Transcript:

Nl: Het was een stormachtige dag in Amsterdam en Anna en Jan besloten om te gaan fietsen.
En: It was a stormy day in Amsterdam and Anna and Jan decided to go cycling.

Nl: Anna had haar favoriete paraplu bij zich en was vastbesloten om hem te gebruiken, ondanks de wind die de regen overal heen blies.
En: Anna had her favorite umbrella with her and was determined to use it, despite the wind blowing the rain all over the place.

Nl: De twee vrienden kwamen snel in de problemen toen hun fietsen bijna werden omvergeblazen door de wind.
En: The two friends quickly ran into trouble when their bikes were nearly blown over by the wind.

Nl: Maar toen Anna haar paraplu opende, werd het probleem alleen maar groter.
En: But when Anna opened her umbrella, the problem only got worse.

Nl: De wind greep de paraplu en blies Anna weg, Jan kon haar met moeite nog net vastgrijpen voordat ze de gracht in viel.
En: The wind grabbed the umbrella and blew Anna away, Jan managed to grab her just before she fell into the canal.

Nl: Met de paraplu vechtend, probeerden ze verder te gaan, maar de wind was te sterk.
En: Fighting with the umbrella, they tried to move on, but the wind was too strong.

Nl: Het duurde niet lang voordat Anna weer werd opgetild en deze keer kon Jan haar niet meer vasthouden.
En: It wasn't long before Anna was lifted up again and this time Jan couldn't hold her anymore.

Nl: Anna vloog door de lucht, haar paraplu de enige constante.
En: Anna flew through the air, her umbrella the only constant.

Nl: De straten waren leeg door de storm, niemand kon Anna helpen toen ze werd opgetild en door de lucht werd geblazen.
En: The streets were empty from the storm, no one could help Anna as she was lifted and blown through the air.

Nl: Maar opeens was daar iets dat het leven van Anna redde, een krachtige hand pakte haar vast en hield haar stevig vast.
En: But suddenly there was something that saved Anna's life, a powerful hand grabbed her and held her tight.

Nl: Anna hing daar, drijfnat en rillend van angst, terwijl een vriendelijke buurman naar haar keek.
En: Anna hung there, soaking wet and shivering with fear, as a friendly neighbor watched her.

Nl: Hij had gezien hoe ze door de lucht werd geblazen en wist dat hij moest handelen.
En: He'd seen her blown through the air and knew he had to act.

Nl: Hij hielp Anna naar beneden, en ze landden allebei met een zachte plof op de grond.
En: He helped Anna down, and they both landed with a soft thud on the floor.

Nl: Vanaf dat moment was de wind niet meer zo sterk.
En: From that moment on the wind was not so strong anymore.

Nl: De regen viel nog steeds, maar was minder heftig en Anna kon eindelijk haar paraplu gebruiken zoals het bedoeld was, om de regen tegen te houden.
En: The rain was still falling, but less intense and Anna was finally able to use her umbrella as it was meant to, to stop the rain.

Nl: Jan en Anna zetten hun fietstocht voort en bedankten hun behulpzame buurman.
En: Jan and Anna continued their bike ride and thanked their helpful neighbour.

Nl: En tijdens hun verdere avonturen in Amsterdam waren ze dankbaar voor hun held die hen uit de storm had gered.
En: And during their further adventures in Amsterdam, they were grateful to their hero who had saved them from the storm.
