Stuart Pimm, renowned conservation ecologist, goes over how and why he started Saving Species, an organization that empowers local conservation groups that work with the local communities to reduce deforestation and habitat destruction, as well as direct local efforts to reconnect and rebuild fragmented forests and preserve and enhance the biodiversity of these degraded regions. This is all, of course, an effort to effectively counter the rapid acceleration of species loss on this planet.
