2011 05 26 - Mary and the Word 2

Let's give Mary the honor that is due her.  We talk about Sarah, and Ruth, and Naomi, and Esther.  What about Mary, a 14 year old girl who was so open to the Holy Spirit that the Word of God was formed within her?  These are some great reflections for all Christians.

Some sins are ingrained into our being.  We need to have the courage to root them out.

Pope Bebedict XVI tells us that we are to be aware of the dictatorship of relativism.  Taken to the extreme this heresy will lead those who follow it question the very existence of absolutes, including the existence of Hell.

I never thought thought not listening to God's Word was the root of sin but it is.  Not listening the the Word of God will lead to sin.

Let's not assume that everything is okay in our hearts.  Have you looked to see what is there.  This show goes through the Ten Commandments and ask questions of each one of us regarding how we measure up.  We all know that it is grace by which we stand, but we may need to appropriate more of it.

When God speaks we need to respond in faith and the very faith with which we respond is itself a gift, if we want it.

God does not leave it up to us.  He is ever ready to help us, even to the point of giving us words in scripture with which to speak to Him.  We need both spontaneous prayer and the prayers of scripture with which to talk to God and listen.

You may think you are nobody, but when God speaks to you, you become somebody and are launched into your destiny.
