Some thoughts on the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.  A few reflections on Isaiah 42:1-7

The light of the Holy Spirit, if we are faithful to the Lord, if we grow in holiness, if we carry out our mission to evangelize, will come fully to our Church and though the world is in darkness we will live in the light.  The nations of the earth will walk by our light (Jesus) and kings by our shining radiance (the Holy Spirit).  Isaiah 60:1-6

Shepherds need to be watching their flocks and looking for the Lord.  A special message for pastors, priests, and anyone looking after God's people.

Advent is a time of getting ready for the coming of the Lord into our lives.  Psalm 24 is a good way to do a partial examination of conscience.  Clean hands, pure hearts, not pursuing vanities.

Isaiah prophesied that "On that day, a shoot shall sprout from the stump of Jesse, and from his roots a bud shall blossom." A stump looks pretty dead and hopeless but with God all things are possible.  He has a plan for our lives no matter where we are or how lifeless we might look.  Let's invite Him into our hearts today!!!

This letter, given on September 30, 2010, addressed to all Christians is a thoughtful and Holy Spirit inspired exhortation on "the Word of God in the Life and Mission of the Church".Wonderful statements are in this document and this show talks about the personal encounters we can have with Jesus through the written Word of God, and about how the Word of God is a wellspring of "constant renewal".  That's what we all want, constant renewal, not periodic renewal or once in a while renewal.  We want "all the time" renewal and it can happen through prayerful imbibing of the Word of God.  Three cheers for B16!!!
