Ham Radio University is an annual event on Long Island. While most of the topics at the event are centered around Amateur Radio, not all of the forums are strictly geared to the Ham hobby.
There are plenty of talks and activities that can be used in the scanner radio hobby as well.
Today's podcast is my presentation from HRU 2019. While some of the presentation is geared to those of us on Long Island, many of the topics are useful no matter where you live.
If you have been a long time listener of the Scanner School podcast, this session will be a great refresher on some of the content that we talked about over the past year.

Cheap Chinese Two Way Radios that have become very popular with the scanner radio crowd.
What you need to knowThese cheap chinese radios are a bargain. For under $30, you can pick up a two way radio from Amazon that will cover the VHF and UHF spectrum.
If you are a licensed amateur radio operator, this radio can save you a pretty penny if you are just starting out in the hobby.
But many people buy these as extra radios and may use them as scanners.
Today, I've reviewed the basics on these cheap radios and why many are buying them.
I also explain what to look out for and some warning when purchasing these.
We have some radios you may be interested in our show notes at www.scannerschool.com/session52

Many have asked about the Unication G4 and G5 pagers, and how they compare to today's scanners.
If you are looking at the Unication G4 or G5 this episode of Scanner School has all the details you need to make an educated decision.
