Well here it is descriptonaughts... the coveted episode 42. This one is about It Chapter Two, and I know what you're thinking: "but wasn't that the last episode?" and you'd be right. But the thing is that It Chapter Two is a very long movie. Not Lord of the Rings long, but long enough that we thought it would be a cruel punishment to make an episode that was randomly, like, two hours. So we broke it down into two regular sized chunks. This chunk is the second chunk. So if you're missing a chunk in this equation then go back and listen to the first chunk (part 1). Cool? Cool.
Do you like longer movies Descriptonaughts? Or do you tend to prefer they stay on the shorter side? Personally I think that there are merits to both but as a general rule I prefer longer as I find it leaves more room for characterization... also I'm a sucker for Lord of the Rings extended editions. The movie we're looking at today is a long one! So long in fact that we opted to split it into 2 different episodes so that you don't have to book off four hours of your busy day to listen to us yak away about it. You're welcome!
Greetings Descriptonaughts! What's your favorite vampire of all time? Count Chocula? Edward Cullen? Kate Beckinsale? The beautifully sad Alucard? For me it's gotta be the classic, biggest of all time; Dracula. I mean without the influence of good old Vlad none of those other guys would exist probably. Or at least they might be a lot different then they are now. Today we're taking a look at the original Dracula film from 1931 and boy howdy is it a good blood-sucking thousand-rats-eating time. Thousand what now? Find out by listening silly! We won't bite.
Well hello there Descriptonaughts! How's it hanging? Today on Scaredy Cats we take a look at It, that one spooky clown movie that was real popular when it came out! I personally love the story of It as it was the first big chapter book I ever read when I was a kid so it's got a real special place in my heart. A place right next to where you all are, in my heart I mean. Right underneath my love of bees. Anyways! We hope you enjoy listening to us break this movie down for you! And if not feel free to scream your criticisms into your pillow, I'll be listening.
Howdy Descriptonaughts! How's it shaking lately? Is that a new haircut? No? Yes? Well either way it looks AMAZING. Speaking of amazing, do you like old fashioned fashion? Like top hats and what not? If the answer is: "you bet your butt!" then you might just enjoy today's movie: The Woman In Black which is a spooky period piece about, you guessed it; a slightly concerned looking Daniel Radcliffe. We hope you enjoy our breakdown and look forward to hearing your thoughts on it either on our social medias, or screaming into the void. I personally prefer the latter method of communication but you do you!
Good day to you Descriptonaughts! Are you a fan of beloved short horror story collections? How about attempts to tie those short horror stories together as one overarching narrative? If the answer is yes to both of those questions then you may just love today's episode on Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. It's got spooky monsters, it's got a Vietnam war era American setting, it's got a creepy book that reads you instead of the other way around! What's not to adore there? Listen and find out!
Happy Monday Descriptonaughts! How is your week panning out so far? It's freaking cold right now up where we live, so we're huddled indoors with our cats watching silly zombie musicales! Speaking of which, that happens to be the subject of today's episode. Yes you read that right: zombie musical. Does it suck? Does it rock? Who's to say but us of course! We hope you enjoy our episode on Anna and the Apocalypse as much as we enjoyed crafting it for you!
Salutations Descriptonaughts! Today on Scaredy Cats we take a look at the horror movie classic Village of the Damned! Which is a movie about how spooky it is to have blond children. As a blond fellow myself I must say it's a fairly accurate depiction of my own childhood, minus the mind powers and murder of course... unless you count that incident at the tire swing... Uh, AHEM- we hope you enjoy this episode! Or at the very least that it doesn't instill you with a seething rage!
Why hello Descriptonaughts! I found you right where I thought you may be, down here in the squishy warm goo that is the description section of this episode. Do you know what else people find sometimes? Footage! Which just so happens to be the subject matter of today's movie Creep. Will footage be found? Will characters film themselves for no other reason then they have to or there would be no movie? But most importantly, is it any good? Listen and find out! And maybe, just maybe; learn something on the way.
Happy belated holiday's descriptonaughts! How is everyone doing? I'll take the silence as you are doing great. If not then hopefully this episode cheers you up! Today we take a look at a movie that is a prime example as to why you should ALWAYS stick to the hiking trail. Seriously, like a lot of people go missing going off-trail hiking. Where do they go? Well The Ritual may give us some idea and boy is it not pretty. We hope you enjoy hearing us talk about it and that everyone is keeping warm and safe! See you in 2021!
