Scarif Scuttlebutt Podcast

Join Ro and Dave from What Does Star Wars Mean 2 U as the discussion takes us to 'Force powers' throughout the films. We talk about some of our favorites and ask some questions about the Force. We've been seeing some new discussions lately with the latest Star Wars shows and wanted to go back to basics to see if we can quantify so much civil unrest when it comes to Force powers.

And what's with the one-time use of the Force like FAST RUN that was seen in Phantom Menace by Qui Gon and Obi Wan? Seems like they could have used it JUST one more time towards the end of the film, no? Let's discuss.

Plus a few voicemails from friends with some program contributions. Thank you! #ThatsTheScuttlebutt

We've got another QuickCuts episode with a few friends. Join Ro as he dives into some topics worth discussing. DJ joins the discussion on AI and it's implications in film production, especially as it pertains to actors, etc.

Don't miss this week's Sentry Mode quiz segment with Tim of FSFPopcast. Hear how Ro tests Tim's nerd knowledge.

And Ro and Ray get together to tease out an internet discussion about old Owen Lars. Was Owen a grumpy old recluse that pooped on everyone's party? Or did he side with the Empire, the Rebellion, or no body? Stick around for that very hot take discussion.

Thanks for listening this week.

BRAD IS BACK!!!

This will be the first time that Ro and Brad discuss the entirety of the Ahsoka series. We get into the weeds in a concise recap of the take-aways from our certain point of view. Will the guys agree on the main points? Was the season finale a breaking point between the two? Don't miss this special episode...SOMEHOW BRAD RETURNS to the Scarif Scuttlebutt Podcast, and it is glorious! Listen now!

We've got another #QuickCuts show and I've brought a couple of friends to discuss. Martin Scorsese is at it again. With a new movie out, Marty is proclaiming that super hero movies are the downfall of society. Ro and Andrew from the Science Fictionary Podcast discuss! Do you agree?

Plus I get together with Patron Dani from Comics & Cosmetics to see if we can solve the aged old problem of how to thrust Star Wars to the future in a good place. We've got all the answers, you'll see.

And I take advantage of having Amanda and Gilbert from Level Up Arcade to play Sentry Mode, our 5 question Q&A. See how they did and play along.

Remember to subscribe and follow our guests. We're all part of the Red5Network, and that's the scuttlebutt!

Join Ro and Nick from NickFlix Podcast list out their picks for their Top 5 Best Movie Characters of all time. And yes, it was as difficult as it sounds. How did we come up with our list? Who's on the list? What genre of films? So many questions. We also asked you on Twitter to weigh in, and you did.

Check out EP168 and see if you agree with our list. Don't forget to follow and subscribe my guest's show as well. Let us know what you thought of our list.

That's the scuttlebutt.

I chat with filmmaker Kai Patterson and we dive into his career, inspiration and motivations on re-cutting the Kenobi series into a 2 and a half hour film. Fan films and edits have been around for ever, but why was this fan edit so controversial? I ask Kai and his answer may surprise you. I hope you get something out of this interview and if you've seen his Patterson Cut of the Kenobi series, do you agree with some of the changes he made? Why or why not.

Enjoy this special presentation from our YouTube ScarifLive show. Plus don't miss details on how to participate in this month's big give away, a Marauder from Bad Batch. Great prizes, good conversation, that's the scuttlebutt!

Dave and Ro tackle the concept of fan expectations and dive into the root of the problem. Does our need to be right when it comes to fan theories and expectations supersede our distinguishing from what's harmless theory crafting versus claiming if it wasn't how we envisioned then it's garbage? A good talk about where our own personal line in the sand is. Is it normal to have expectations when going in to see a movie or television show? Or do those anticipatory ideas lead us to the dark side? Join the discussion.

Plus we have a special Sentry Mode segment with special guest Crystal Kyber. Crystal attempts to answer five Prequel Trilogy questions. See how she did and play along with us.

What are fans saying about fan expectations? Listen to Rural Farm Boy's voicemail and see if you agree.

Our latest QuickCuts show teams me up with the guys from the After The Weekend Movie Show. We discussed family movies of the 80s and how that genre at that particular time really cemented the action adventure themes we see today.

Plus we respond to some listener voicemails. Questions and comments from across the inter webs, I've got some responses. And we have a special Sentry Mode Q&A with Blake of Dork Wars Podcast. Take a listen and see how he does.
