Scarif Scuttlebutt Podcast

Join on as we continue to talk #StarTrek with fellow Red5Network pod @SWations. Last week we Trekked with Amanda @JediCaligula and the mission continues as we continue to discuss the 'other' 'STAR' franchise. We were lucky to include one of the @SWations STAR WIVES to get her insight on Trek, her first love and compared both franchises.

Leaning on last week's discussion we continue to examine Rodenberry's notion of utopia in Star Trek and how that is looked upon by fans especially in today's times. How we doing folks?

As always, we are a proud founding member of the #Red5Network. Thanks for listening.

Let's dive into the Delta Quadrant at Warp Factor 9... whoa, that's fast! Ok, let's slow up a bit. You haven't stumbled into an alternative mirror universe. Scarif Podcast is going where no scuttlebutt has gone before.

We're talking about #StarTrek with our patron and friend Amanda @JediCaligula89 and touching on Gene Roddenberry's utopian future, his message and how the two STAR franchises differ.

Plus a very special Trek #SentryMode. Don't miss it!

EPISODE 85, Stephen Kent stops by to talk about how the force can save the world...the title of his new book which explores some of the ways #StarWars teaches us how communicate effectively through humility and an openness to listen. Brad comes back for this one and goes head first into the politics of Star Wars and how they sometimes mirror real life. Join the rest of #TeamScarif, Ro and Chanti and see what Stephen has learned about how the force can fix the world.

Plus a special #SentryMode, we put Stephen in the hot seat with some fun questions.

I encourage you all to pick up his book at your favorite book seller or amazon. PLUS, stay til the end and find out how you can gain access to a special hidden track of his podcast Beltway Banthas if you order the Amazon version of "How The Force Can Fix The World".

Happy Halloween everyone! Our spooky, ghostly episode 84 is here just in time to explore the things that go bump in the night. Join us with special guest Andrea, @PlusVerb as we discuss ghosts and apparitions in movies.

We actually surprised ourselves with this one as we shared some personal stories of paranormal goings on that we each experienced and talked about how ghosts manifest themselves in our minds. Sometimes they are unfinished business, guilt or hidden messages in our sub conscious.

And remember to listen each week for cool prizes and giveaways. You can't win if you don't listen. Big thanks to some of our followers and listeners for writing in their spooky ghost tales. Listen to Chanti read them off and remember to listen to this show in the dark.

Once again, as always, we are a founding member of the Red5Network. That's the scuttlebutt.

Episode 83, we're breaking down the Western as a genre and making some observations about our favorite Westerns of the past decades. One of the more interesting things is examining all the archetypes in Westerns and applying those character tropes to modern films. They have a lot in common with our films of a galaxy far, far away...but I digress.

With Westerns fading from time to time, they tend to come back, why is that? What keeps audiences wanting more? What make the genre so popular? We ask that question and make some discoveries along the way.

Big thanks to some of our followers who surprised us by listing out some of their favorites, we gave you all a shout out and saw some patterns emerge as far as one particular movie that seemed to be on everyone's list...you catch my drift my little huckleberry?

In this week's episode we talk about vigilante's in comics and movies. We had a very awesome discussion with Andrew of the Science Fictionary dot com and discussed why vigilantes are so prevalent in movies.

We also give our two cents on the new Disney Plus Star Wars Visions series, the good, the bad and the ugly. And if you thought it was safe to give your opinions about Star Wars on Twitter, well, we also comment on Marcia Lucas' comments made a while ago but made public recently, our two cents on that, too.

Thanks for your continued support friends. Don't miss EP82:Vigilantes
