Transfiguration: Hope and Power | St. Paul Lutheran Worship
Description:
🏔️ Mountaintop experiences are moments of awe and transformation—whether on a mission trip, a retreat, or simply standing before the majesty of God’s creation. But no mountaintop moment compares to the Transfiguration of Jesus, where His full divinity was revealed, giving us hope and power for today.
📖 Scripture Readings:
Deuteronomy 34:1-12 – Moses sees the Promised Land
Luke 9:28-36 – The Transfiguration of Jesus
Why is the Transfiguration important for us today?
Just as Moses led God's people out of slavery in Egypt, Jesus would soon begin His final journey to the cross, breaking our bonds to sin. On that mountaintop:
✅ Jesus prayed—He continually sought the Father.
✅ God’s presence was revealed—and He is present with us today.
✅ Jesus was empowered—and through the Holy Spirit, we too receive strength for the journey ahead.
As we enter Lent, we are reminded of our own exodus—the reality that we will one day face the grave. But because Jesus came down the mountain and went to the cross, we have hope in Him.
🙏 Join us in worship as we reflect on Christ’s glory and His mission to redeem us. If this message speaks to you, share it with a friend and leave a comment below!

📖 "Love Your Enemy?" | St. Paul Lutheran Church
A Message on Luke 6:27-38 & 1 Corinthians 15:21-26
Jesus’ words in Luke 6 challenge us in ways that seem impossible:
"Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you." (Luke 6:27-28)
How can we possibly live this out? Is Jesus setting a trap, asking us to do something unattainable? The truth is, we will fail. Yet, through Christ, we are forgiven, renewed, and called to a new way of living—one that reflects our Father's mercy, grace, and love.
Key Takeaways from Today’s Message:
📖 We are made alive in Christ, not by our works, but by grace. (Ephesians 2:4-6)
💡 Good works are the fruit of faith—not a way to earn salvation, but a response to it.
❤️ Mercy is love in action: forgiving, giving, serving, and reflecting the character of God.
🙌 The Holy Spirit enables us to live out this radical love, not by our own strength, but by His power.
As baptized followers of Jesus, we are transformed. Our lives begin to look like Him. “Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.” (Luke 6:36)
What does this mean for you today?
How can you reflect the love, forgiveness, and mercy of Christ in your life? Ask God to help you walk in this new life of faith and love.

📖 Things Are Not Always What They Seem! | St. Paul Lutheran Church
Life often presents things that aren't as they appear. In today's message, based on Psalm 1 & Luke 6:17-26, we explore how God's Kingdom turns our expectations upside down. What seems weak is actually strong. What appears cursed is truly blessed. Jesus reveals a deeper reality—one that challenges how we see the world and calls us to trust in Him.
🔍 Sermon Highlights:
Don't Judge by First Glance – Our world teaches us to trust what we see, but Jesus shows us that things are not always what they seem.
God’s Kingdom Flips Expectations – The poor, hungry, weeping, and hated are called blessed! How can this be?
Where Do We Find Our Value? – Riches, reputation, and success are fleeting. True blessing is found in Christ alone.
Rejoice and Leap for Joy! – Jesus transforms our lives, calling us His own and promising an eternal reward in heaven.
🙌 Join Us!
Discover how God’s Kingdom is unlike anything we expect—where true riches are found in Christ, and those the world overlooks are honored by God.

You're Welcome Here! | Worship at St. Paul Lutheran Church
Have you ever been asked, “You’re not from around here… are you?” It’s a question that can expose our differences, make us feel out of place, or even unwelcome. But in God’s kingdom, there are no outsiders. Through His grace, we are all called, gathered, and welcomed into His family.
This Sunday, we reflect on Luke 5:1-11, where Jesus calls Simon Peter to follow Him. Simon, weary from a night of failed fishing, is told by Jesus to cast his nets once more. Though filled with doubt, he obeys—and what happens next changes his life forever. In the same way, sin can cause us to doubt God’s promises, turning us away from Him. But grace draws us near.
Jesus’ words to Simon echo through time: “Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men.” (Luke 5:10b) Just as Simon was invited into Jesus’ mission, so are we. You are welcome here—not just as a guest, but as part of God’s family and His Church. And as those who have been welcomed, we are now sent—to share the love of Christ with the world.
Join us this week at St. Paul Lutheran Church as we rejoice in the truth that we belong in God’s kingdom, and we have a mission to share His love.
