Fringe series Finale

Tonight’s guest is Miriam Pultro of the web series Mythos: “A character-driven, mythology-based webseries about  mortality, family, love, and fate.” She’s been nominated for Best Actress at the Indie Soap Awards for both Mythos and Casters – The Web Series. She tells us all about how Mythos got started, and about the lessons she learned from the production of the first season, which is available here.

Tonight’s guest is Francis Abbey, writer and executive producer for the fantasy webseries The Broken Continent. We talked about the challenges of working in the fantasy genre (shoes are a big one) and the success of their first Kickstarter campaign. If the trailer for The Broken Continent is any indication, this is going to be a great series. But they need your help with the post-production costs! Tonight’s guest is Jamie Chambers from Signalfire Studios. Jamie told us about several really neat projects including the upcoming e-book, The Very Hungry Cthulupillar. You can hear the first page of the book read as the opening of this week’s podcast, and the plan is to release an audio version soon. Tonight’s guests are producer Ethan Calk and actor Manu Intirayme from the planned fan film Star Trek: Renegades. The film is being made by the same team that brought us Star Trek: Of Gods and Men, and just about everyone involved has worked on one of the Star Trek TV shows. Right now, the project is being financed by a Kickstarter campaign, which has two weeks left. We discuss the premise of the film, the progress of the Kickstarter campaign, and the superiority of Jelly Belly jellybeans.

Tonight’s guest is Jim Butcher, author of the wonderful Dresden Files series. We discuss the newest novel in the series: Cold Days. If you’re looking for even more of a preview, the first chapter is available on Jim’s website, and new chapters will be released weekly until the book’s release on November 27. Jim also talks about his experiences working on the TV adaptation of The Dresden Files, the new steampunk book series he’s writing, and lists some of the authors whose books he’s been reading lately.
