Dinah copes with the death of her mother, the Black Canary, while Barbara takes her relationship with Wade to the next level. Helena and Reese continue to spar, but both their lives are on the line as she puts herself out to help him bring in a gang that turns out to be working to fund Dr. Q's plot to take over New Gotham City. Will Helena eventually go too far in her thrill seeking?

To the surprise of everyone, Dinah's mother, the same mother who abandoned her at age six, shows up in New Gotham City though she has no idea her daughter now lives there. Though Carolyn Lance and Barbara Gordon know each other, the fact that Carolyn is Dinah's mom and also Black Canary throws our trio for a loop.

This episode reinforces the fun aspect of the show as the three superheroes struggle to take care of one tiny baby who doesn't stay tiny for long. Is Doctor Quinzel ready to make her move? Will the trio be ready? Will Helena find true love?

This episode explores the ptifalls surrounding life as a female superhero as we watch Helena struggle with the fact that she'll never enjoy a normal life nor be a normal girl. Her story parallels Barbara's baby step relationship with a fellow teacher while Dinah can't seem to make it through an entire day of high school.
