  • The Best Of Dave

On last Friday's episode Scott promised that if the GoFundMe for the Blezard family hit it's target by the end of this weekend, Scott would release a pod episode with the best of Dave Blezard. The goal was hit and Scott is paying up. These are audio clips from Scott Fox, Dave Blezard, Ashley Greco, and Marcello on the Z103.5 Morning Show, circa 2010.

If you would like to donate to the fundraiser for the Blezard family: CLICK HERE and view the GoFundMe Page.

This GoFundMe to support the Blezard family as they walk through an incredibly challenging time with their sweet daughter, Ellie. Ellie is a bright, strong, and loving little girl who is autistic, bringing a special kind of joy and light to everyone around her. Recently, after a series of medical concerns and testing, Ellie was diagnosed with cancer following the discovery of a fast-growing mass. While this news has been incredibly difficult, Ellie continues to show so much strength and resilience every single day.

Her family is staying close by her side at the hospital, focusing all their love and energy on her care and comfort. At the same time, they are caring for Ellie's three-month-old baby sister, doing everything they can to support both of their girls during this emotional time. With extended hospital stays come many unexpected expenses—parking, meals, and accommodations—that can quickly become overwhelming. This fundraiser is meant to help ease that burden so the family can focus on what matters most: being together and supporting Ellie through her treatment and recovery. Any funds not used during their hospital stay will be donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities, an organization that supports families facing similar journeys.

  • The Prime Minister Is In Europe Again Trying To Avoid Dealing With The Americans

On today's Scott Fox After 9, a promise kept. The Blezard Family GoFundMe hit its goal, so a Best Of Dave Blezard podcast episode is dropping later today. To read the story or make a donation: CLICK HERE

In this episode, Connor McDavid reflects on a disappointing Edmonton Oilers season, while RJ Barrett discusses the Toronto Raptors' young core and their growing impact in the NBA.

There is also a political split screen, alternating between Pierre Poilievre's Toronto remarks criticizing Mark Carney over stalled U.S. trade progress, and Mark Carney's news conference in Europe, where the focus appears to lean more toward strengthening ties with the European Union than prioritizing a U.S. trade deal.

  • Major Mixed Signals From The Bank of Canada - Will Rates Go Up or Down?

Ana Almeida drops in for a quick check-in on this episode. She weighs in on the Doug Ford private jet controversy.

Scott follows with a deep dive into the Bank of Canada's latest rate decision. The messaging is anything but clear. The Bank hints that rate cuts could be on the table if a CUSMA deal stalls, but also warns that persistent high oil prices could force more hikes. It's a split signal that leaves borrowers and markets guessing.

You'll also hear Pierre Poilievre reacting to the Liberals' Spring Economic Update, along with his take on a controversial new federal measure that would allow warrantless mail searches by law enforcement. Plus, audio from Mark Carney speaking to trades workers. He stresses the urgent need for more skilled labour, but noticeably avoids mentioning a major driver many expected: new oil pipeline development.

  • Feel-Good Sports, Royal Laughs, and a Reality Check on Canada's Economy

This episode kicks off with a genuinely heartwarming moment in Buffalo, where American fans stepped up in a big way, singing Oh Canada after a microphone failure. No Canadian teams were on the ice, but the respect and energy in the building made it feel like they were.

On the field, there's plenty to celebrate. Trey Yesavage earns a standing ovation in his first start of the season for the Toronto Blue Jays, and the Canadian Football League is eyeing changes to the Grey Cup playoff format.

We also dip into some lighter moments from King Charles III, who brought unexpected humour during speeches in Washington, showing a side you don't always see.

Then, the main event: a full breakdown of the federal government's Spring Economic Update. We get into the deficit, the national debt, and the rising cost of interest payments, and what it all means for Canadians right now.

  • Carney Ready To Gamble 25 Billion Taxpayer Dollars

Prime Minister Mark Carney sits down with CBC to talk about his recent meetings with Donald Trump, and more. The Prime Minister made a number of controversial comments that get broken down in today's After 9.

Then, the main event: Carney unveils a proposed sovereign wealth fund, with an initial $25 billion taxpayer investment. Details are scarce, but the reaction isn't. Pierre Poilievre weighs in with sharp criticism of the plan and what it could mean for Canadians.

  • Poilievre vs Reporters and Listener DM's

Listener DM's are back, with a bit of a twist today.

Since Friday got bumped, this episode mixes your messages with a full weekend recap, and it moves fast. You'll hear Pierre Poilievre handling reporters, plus some standout moments that shaped the political conversation over the last couple of days.

There's also audio from Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew, floating the idea of putting U.S. alcohol back on shelves tied to the release of the Epstein files, and a heated exchange featuring Donald Trump going toe-to-toe with a 60 Minutes anchor.

The listener DM's hit on a mix of political frustration and everyday life, from concerns about foreign interference and distrust in government, to criticism of leadership decisions and spending priorities. There's also plenty of real-life commentary, including complaints about potholes and highway conditions, thoughts on time changes, questions about media bias and accountability, and concerns from parents navigating kids and social media. It's a wide-ranging conversation that reflects where people's heads are at right now.

It jumps around, it's honest, and it's one of those episodes where the audience really drives the conversation.

  • Was Ford Out of Line For Making This Comment? Plus: Poilievre Talks Trade

Today's episode kicks off with explosive audio from Doug Ford in the Ontario Legislature during an exchange with MPP Stephanie Smyth. Was it inappropriate? Was it misogynistic? Should an apology follow? You'll hear the moment and Smyth's reaction afterward, and decide for yourself.

We also break down key moments from Pierre Poilievre and Mark Carney as both address Canada–U.S. trade tensions in separate news conferences.

Plus, audio from officials at the Office of the United States Trade Representative reveals just how strained negotiations with Canada have become.

  • Alberta And Ontario Pushing For A Back-To-Basics Approach In Classrooms

Education shakeups, trade tensions, and government spending questions headline today's After 9.

Scott opens with a look at education policy as Danielle Smith pushes a back-to-basics approach in Alberta, aiming to remove political ideology from classrooms. Meanwhile in Ontario, a new rule will require students to pass a financial literacy course to graduate.

On the international front, Mark Carney downplays rising Canada–U.S. trade tensions, but comments from Jamieson Greer and Howard Lutnick suggest there's more beneath the surface.

Plus, Scott digs into two eyebrow-raising stories: millions spent on the PrescribeIT program with little to show, and Canada's so-called "spaceport" that may be nothing more than an expensive concrete pad.

  • Revenue For Legacy Media in Canada is Crashing

Today on After 9, Scott takes on the growing debate around government subsidies for legacy media and whether pouring more taxpayer money into struggling outlets is the right move. After a Bell Media executive revealed massive annual losses on news, the question becomes unavoidable: is the model broken, or just outdated? Scott digs into whether Big Tech should pay more, or if traditional media needs to look inward as audiences shift to podcasts and social media platforms.

Also, an update on Canada–U.S. trade relations, featuring insights from Dominic LeBlanc and Janice Charette, plus compelling parliamentary committee audio from Ron Butler on just how unaffordable life in Canada has become.

Plus, Mark Carney explains why he avoids answering certain questions in the House of Commons, and Doug Ford once again defends his controversial luxury jet purchase.
