As followers of Christ we have an identity struggle — being who God says we are versus being who our thoughts and the enemy try to convince us that we are. We are new creations in Christ.

In this series, the title is a play on words with the movie trilogy that began with The Bourne Identity. The series was the search of an American assassin to discover his true identity as he recovered from amnesia. The amnesia was brought on by an internal conflict between his core identity and his programmed identity — his core values overrode his training as he hesitated on a mission, to protect innocent children.

As Christians, we also have a challenge of identity. Am I the old pre-Christian man, or the new man in the identity of Christ. I am who God says I am and I must embrace that new identity and walk in it.

The Gospel of Grace is a gospel that calls us to a life in passionate pursuit of Christ and equips and empowers us to do it.

How should we approach the responsibility rearing children, entrusted to us by God?

Do we even believe that we are accountable to God for the rearing of our children?

As Christian parents, what should be our goal in rearing children?

These are questions we explore in this message as we deal with building families of multi-generational faith.

Our freedom is in Christ, but once gained, it must be maintained. There are forces at war with us and intent on taking back the freedom we have gained — the world system, the nature of the flesh, and the demonic realm. We have everything necessary to maintain our freedom, but it must be diligently maintained.

Freedom is the cry of the human heart — political, economic, and spiritual freedom. Our focus in this message is spiritual freedom. There is a three-fold enemy that is dedicated to snuffing out our freedom — the world system, the nature and passions of the flesh, and the demonic realm. We must passionately pursue and maintain our freedom in Christ.

We live in a culture that equates words with deeds — in Scripture, our words are made of no effect by our deeds; in other words, our deeds override our words. Throughout the New Testament we are confronted with the challenge that faith and obedience are synonymous and neither are optional.

My passion is to stir up your passion for God. Doing the will of God is not optional. We are to pursue it with passion!

Flower beds dont weed themselves, someone has to do it, and if it is not maintained on a regular basis the weeds can take over. The same thing is true of the spiritual life. We dont drift toward righteousness.

The word “pursue” is an interesting word that implies intentionality, focus, and diligence. It is impossible to be apathetic in pursuit of something; one does not casually pursue something. No! Pursuit implies an intensely focused and active quest.
