It was not long ago that the Houston Cougars were a solid, well though of group of 5 school that was happy to get the occasional big prospect and perhaps knock off one of their in-state foes. But, enter Chris Pezman as AD, conference realignment, revenue sharing and all the changes to college athletics, and Houston is now with the big boys looking for a spot in the College Football Playoff and Final 4.

Neil and I talk all things Houston, Arkansas State, NCAA, revenue sharing and so much more here on Scouting the League.

The hours (and days) of scouting assistants, QC coaches and interns clicking through and filling out film data in the backroom of a football facility are long over - and we largely have Pro Football Focus to thank for that. As the data has grown, and grown, and grown....so too have the questions regarding its accuracy, application and so much more. Steve Palazzolo is here to tell you it is in good hands. From the upstart company and how he got his start to the massive shift the game has made to using the data - Neil and I ask Steve all the questions about PFF and how it has made the game better. Plus, his new venture at the 33rd team, the future of scouting and so much more.

It is not uncommon to be laughed at when you tell someone you want to be an NFL Scout. Working for no pay, betting on yourself, moving from city to city - all of it is standard practice when it comes to the football life. We are a little crazy. Neil and I sit down with one of those who lived that life and came out on the other side. Kirby O'Meara joins us to talk through his football journey from Arkansas and Florida to eventually Wyoming; the lessons he learned from the people along the way and the new venture about to unfold.

The landscape that is NFL Scouting has changed dramatically since the 1970's. Full time staff's, structured programs, year round coverage; guys like Charley Casserly are certainly in line to be thanked. Neil and I sit down with Charley to talk about his start in scouting and how what he did years ago is still paving the way for GM's today. From a non-paying internship to turning down a 2 year contract, to the Ricky Williams trade and drafting Mario Williams. Charley shares stories and lessons that will impact everyone in the football industry.
