Scouting the League

Of all the aspects of the NFL Draft, free agency and roster building that go unnoticed (and uncovered), NFL Local Days are some of the best kept secrets. How do teams decide who gets to come? What all is covered? Who runs them? So many questions - and I have the answers. As a Pro Scout in Atlanta, I ran the local days for 2 years and explain everything that an agent (or football loving junkie) could possibly want, and need, to know.

Plus - Neil hits on all aspects of Inside the League and what you need to be doing if you are planning to get certified in 2025 (Sign up for test prep with Neil!!)

An education with arguably the best HC in NFL History, a seminar in Tampa with patience and an underappreciated GM to finally sitting in the Big Chair in Tennessee. Jon Robinson once thought he would be a teacher and coach - but the right connections, the right work ethic and the right opportunities landed him at the top of the Tennessee Titans.

Neil and I sit down with Jon to talk all things NFL GM. From his path through the NFL and his many mentors and cohorts; to his time in Tennessee and the way he ran his front office.

Hearing the TRUTH about the draft and free agent process with a successful GM.

Building a roster at any level goes way beyond the 11 that line up on offense and defense. Special teams, forgotten about until the big play hits, is a pivotal factor as an NFL roster cuts down to 53, and as college rosters think about 105 and maneuvering in the transfer portal. So, how exactly is it all factored in? Neil and I are joined by fast rising coach and Special Teams Coordinator at Florida Atlantic University, Tyler Schovanec, to talk all things special teams.

From his start as a QB and being the guy that could operate a computer to being prepared when the opportunity came (which some would call luck). Tyler talks us through his journey, his champions, his philosophy for special teams and so much more.

Plus - get a full run down of every award winner at the Inside the League Seminar last week in Indy and see who took home the hardware.

Super Bowl 59 was a case study in winning in the trenches as the Eagles Offensive and Defensive Lines absolutely dominated the game. That philosophy, so masterfully executed by GM Howie Roseman and crew, led to a game that seemed over in the first quarter. So we asked Former Scout and NFL Offensive Lineman all about those trenches, scouting and so much more.

From his playing days in the NFL and USFL to his transition into scouting and what that took. Building the Houston Texans from scratch with David Carr and Andre Johnson to being part of the Colin Kapernick 49ers and Cam Newton Panthers. The game has changed but good people that know ball are still the best scouts.

Plus - how has the spread offense changed evaluations for the OL and what is Sumer Sports.
