I didn’t want to get out of bed. I almost drove home from the gym. But instead of thinking about everything I needed to change, I tried doing just one thing in front of me. Then another.
I keep saying I want a different life, but then I go home and escape into the same habits that keep me stuck. Maybe I don’t need to figure out everything yet. Maybe I just need to stop running from the work.
It’s 1:27 in the morning and I can’t sleep. Something feels missing, but I don’t know what. Maybe I’m searching for something. Maybe I’m just tired of feeling like I’m not enough.
I’ve spent most of my life talking fast, moving fast, and worrying about how people see me. Maybe confidence isn’t about becoming louder. Maybe it starts with learning to slow down.
Why do some people get under our skin so easily? Maybe the goal isn’t to never get upset. Maybe it’s learning that we don’t have to give every person and every situation control over the rest of our day.
I kept waiting until I had life figured out before I could help anyone else. Maybe I never will. I’m not here because I have all the answers. I’m here because I’m figuring it out too.
Somehow, the years just pass. You get older, lose people, make mistakes, and realize how much time you spent worrying about what everyone else thought. Maybe it’s time to live a little more for yourself.
What if none of this works out? I don’t know. Maybe I don’t need that answer today. Maybe today I just need to be a little gentler with myself, let go of what I can’t control, and keep going.
We want the relationship, the money, the body, and the success now. But getting what you want is one thing. Becoming the person who can handle it is another. Keep showing up. One day at a time.
Sometimes life doesn’t give you what you wanted. Maybe that’s the wake up call. Stop letting fear make your decisions, let go of what you can’t control, and start doing what you already know you need to do.
