Matthew 19:3-6 – Jesus is asked a question about divorce, but Jesus answers with a principle about marriage. Gambling is not specifically addressed in the scriptures, but we do have principles that we can apply.
What’s not wrong:

The problems that come from compulsive gambling

Luke 17:1-37
Luke 17:1-4 – We have an obligation to help other people avoid sin by not causing them to stumble and rebuking them to help them return to God is they do.
Luke 17:7-10 – We are entitled to nothing but a life in service to God. See Luke 9:23; 14:11; 18:13.
Luke 17:11-19 – Jesus cleanses ten lepers, but only one returns to thank Him.
What if we only had today what we thanked God for yesterday?
Keep things in perspective.
Be thankful for past blessings.
We have redemption through Christ. If nothing good happens to me the rest of my life, isn’t that enough?
Luke 17:20-21 – The kingdom of God was within them!
Luke 17:22-37 – This appears to be a prophecy about the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70. Some interpret this to be at least partially talking about the second coming of Christ, but in comparison with other parallel passages, it seems to be wholly in reference to the destruction of Jerusalem. The apocalyptic language used here is used elsewhere in the Bible in reference to earthly battles and wars. See also Matthew 24; Mark 13; Luke 21.
Luke 17:33-34 – Those who would listen to the prophecy and get out would be saved. Those who try to stay behind and try to preserve their old life will be lost.

Galatians 3:15-29
Galatians 3:18 – Our inheritance is based on the promise given to Abraham, not on the law. The Galatians were trying to go back to the old law, but Paul is trying to get them to see that it would not get them any closer to salvation.
Galatians 3:19 – God provided the law to define what sin was until Jesus came.
Galatians 3:20 – There was a mediator for the Old Covenant, but God was the only one involved when He brought His promise to pass in bringing Jesus. Here God is showing the superiority of Christ and the New Covenant over the Old Covenant.
Galatians 3:21-22 – The law and the promise were not contradictory. The law prepared the way for the promise to come.

Definition of gossip
Idle word – word that does nothing
Slander – oral communication of false statements
Matthew 12:36-37
Why is there so much gossip?
No preaching on it.
It is a rationalization of self-righteousness.
Gossips do not have the mentality for serious conversation.
Undoubtedly much evil is done
If someone tells something bad about you, I cannot possibly feel the same about both of you!
If I believe the tale, I will not feel the same about you.
If I do not believe the tale, I will not feel the same about the one who told it.
What good does it do?
The only time I need to report any actual evil of someone is when I’m seeking information as to how to help the person involved.
-or- when it will help somebody else. For example:
If I know someone is a poor credit risk.
Advising someone against associating with someone.
Reporting sin in the church (I Corinthians 1:11).

Am I dependable and hard-working, or am I kinda lazy? Acts 6:1-7
Am I devout or hypocritical in daily life? Acts 10:1-2
Am I generous or stingy? Acts 4:32-37
Am I an obedient student of God’s Word or do I just ignore it? Acts 8:27-39
Am I devoted to prayer or negligent? Acts 1:13-14; 2:41-42; Matthew 6:5-7
Am I helpful and encouraging, or a drag? Acts 18:23-28
What do I need to do right now?
Think about this.
Talk about this.
Do something about this.

Luke 16:1-31
Luke 16:1-13 – The parable of the unrighteous steward. God expects us to use our earthly goods wisely in serving Him. The steward was being fired but was still well spoken of by his master because of his shrewdness.
Luke 16:14-15 – The Pharisees scoffed because they loved money too much and Jesus rebuked them for it.
Luke 16:16-17 – See Hebrews 1:1-2; 2:1-4. Some claim that Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are part of the Old Covenant, but that is not true. Jesus is clearly stating that the gospel of the kingdom of God has now been preached.
Luke 16:18 – See Romans 7:1-4.
Luke 16:19-31 – The parable of the rich man and Lazarus.
There is a conscious existence beyond the grave (Luke 16:23-25).
You can’t change your eternal fate after death (Luke 16:25-26).
The Scripture is as capable of causing one to repent as one rising from the dead and delivering a message (Luke 16:31).
People know their fates as soon as they did, before Judgment Day (Luke 16:22-23).

Galatians 3:1-14
Galatians 3:1 – The word “foolish” here means, “having poor judgment.”
Galatians 3:2 – See II Corinthians 3. Spirit here most likely means the work of the Holy Spirit, i.e., the gospel. Many take the view that this is talking about the personal indwelling of the Holy Spirit, which conflicts with other passages.
Galatians 3:10 – Those who were trying to find salvation by keeping the law of Moses were under a curse because they could not keep the law perfectly. The blood of Christ allows us to be saved even though we have sinned. Jesus came to redeem us from the curse of the law. See Joel 2:32.

I Corinthians 14:34-15:11
I Corinthians 14:34-35 – It is improper for a woman to speak out when the whole church has gathered to worship. The reason is that women are to be in subjection, which goes all the way back to Genesis.
I Corinthians 14:37-38 – Paul is reinforcing the regulations he has set forth. Men could not claim to have a revelation with different regulations.
I Corinthians 15:5 – “The twelve” here is evidently a figure of speech. Since Judas was dead, there were only eleven apostles at the time.

Luke 13:18-15:32
Luke 13:18-21 – God’s Word is still around! It still permeates the whole world.
Luke 14:1-6 – Jesus heals a man on the Sabbath, which angers the Pharisees. He recognizes this and points out their hypocrisy.
Luke 14:7-11 – Don’t be prideful and assume honor for yourself!
Luke 14:12-14 – Don’t only help those who can help you back.
Luke 14:15-24 – Don’t make excuses to not obey God!
Luke 14:25-33 – See Matthew 10:37. Jesus lays out our priorities. God must be first!
Luke 15:1-32 – The scribes and Pharisees were grumbling about Jesus spending time with sinners, so Jesus tells three parables about how valuable it is to God when a sinner returns. We should rejoice when a sinner repents!
