- I Timothy 1:8-11 – The law is especially needed by sinners. We have to be careful to not adopt the opposite mentality and avoid teaching people who need the gospel the most.
- I Timothy 1:13 – It is not okay to continue in ignorance and unbelief! Ignorance is not a strategy for salvation!
- I Timothy 1:15 – See I Timothy 1:9; I John 1:5-8. We have all sinned. We should not be in a state of continual sin, though.

- Mark 12:38-13:23
- Mark 12:38-40 – Jesus warns about the pride of the scribes in how they sought out the places of prestige in he synagogues and feasts.
- Mark 12:41-44 – The widow gives all that she has into the treasury. The question we should ask is, “How should I give?” – not “How much should I give?” It’s not eh amount that impresses the Lord. It’s the disposition with which it is given.
- Mark 13:1-13 – Jesus prophesies about the destruction of the temple. All these prophecies relate to events preceding the destruction of the Jerusalem.
- Mark 13:14-23 – Josephus records that no Christians were killed in the destruction of Jerusalem. See also Daniel 9-11.

- “The Pastoral Epistles”?
- The word pastors only appears once in the New Testament (Ephesians 4:11).
- Paul uses the word servant and evangelist (I Timothy 4:6; II Timothy 4:5). Nowhere in the New Testament do we read anything about one man leading a congregation. The word pastor is referring to an elder or bishop. All three are the same role.
- I Timothy 1:2,18 – Paul repeatedly referred to Timothy as his son or his child in the faith. This seems to have been a term of endearment. Possibly Timothy was converted through Paul’s teaching. Compare Matthew 23:9.
- I Timothy 1:3-4 – See II Peter 1:16.

If a church preaches and practices what is taught in the NT, it is of Christ. Being of Christ or not is not determined by what is on the sign in front of the building.
