The truths about God that we’ve seen throughout this series are so much more than a mere history lesson; they provide our hearts with a lifeline of hope! My prayer is that your heart would be refreshed by the truth that God never gives up on you.

This week our series in Genesis takes us to the life of Jacob. Instead of seeing a life of faith, we see a person who is struggling to understand and accept this God.

After God blesses Abraham with his son Isaac, he asks Abraham to offer Isaac as a sacrifice. In this story, we learn that God is faithful to His promises because He sees the future He provides everything that is needed.

This week, God reaffirms the plan to bless Abraham and Sarah with a son who will become a great nation. They believed God and His promises but still had areas of unbelief.

Abraham may be the Father of Faith, but like each of us, his doubts and downfalls. Remember that God and His faithfulness is always the basis of real success and spiritual growth.

This series is not about the people, but rather this is a series about God’s character and His plans to restore a fallen creation. Our desire is that we may grow in a deeper understanding of our God and a greater appreciation of His plans for creation.

The fruit of a healthy, growing disciple is not of our making, but Christ’s! It is His fruit displayed in us, on us, through us, for all to see. Divine fruit, hanging on “human” branches!
