Once again, God’s mission to rebuild His Temple and His City, Jerusalem, got derailed by opposition and neglect. But God never quits! He raises up a new leader - Ezra!

The symbolism of Passover took on great importance for the people who just returned from exile. In this brief passage, we are reminded of the heart of God for people and we are reminded of His faithfulness to His promises.

The people resumed their project, received new opposition but responded with “determined obedience” and faith. But the real hero of the story is God.

When God is in His rightful place at the center of our lives, we experience the joy and freedom we were created for, we no longer believe the lie that it is up to us to make our lives worth living.

This week we see, throughout the course of nearly 100 years, Israel was able to learn valuable lessons about God’s sovereignty and His purposes.

This week we continue our series in the book of Ezra with a look at the responses of the community of God when they grasped the enormity of God’s plans.

Ezra 3:1-6, is a great event where the people rebuilt the Altar of the Temple in order to restore their rhymes of worship. Reflect on what it means for us to put “God’s Worship” at the center of our lives.

God launched His new movement of His Chosen People, on a new mission

Throughout time, God’s plan of using His people (first Israel and now followers of Jesus) to be His ambassadors to the rest of creation demonstrating His power and faithfulness, has remained the same.
