  • Innovative education for our kids...at a statewide level
Is the way we educate our children outdated? Are there better ways, without throwing it all out and starting over? Today I interview Chris Reykdal, the Superintendent of Public Instruction for the State of Washington. He's the top guy in the state over public education. And we talk about Running Start, where juniors and seniors in high school actually take classes at community colleges, paid for by the high school. I also ask him about home schooling, and how the state integrates them into the public system. And I directly ask him if the very system he oversees needs fundamental change - you might be surprised at his answer. A candid conversation about how one state is innovating their approach to educating kids.

  • Cleaning up our country's rivers one old tire, barrel and bowling ball at a time
As we all collect more and more stuff, more and more of it ends up in our rivers and along our shorelines. One group - Living Lands and Waters - has spent the last 20 years cleaning it up. The list of things they've found out there is wild. Almost as long as their list of sponsors which include John Deere, Budweiser and many more. Oh, and did I mention they live on a barge? And that college kids spend their spring break with them? An amazing story of a group of adventurers out making our country a better place.

  • Sean's thoughts on the impeachment, debates, war cost, national debt and more
Today I bring you my thoughts on impeachment, and what I don't see in all the raucous. Also, how and where you can get an up-close look at the presidential candidates if you’d like to do that. My overall thoughts on the candidates running, and the vital importance to a candidate's ability to communicate (and what recent presidents had it). I also discuss a new report out on the amount of money we, as a nation, have spent on war since 9/11 (holy cow) and my opinion on what it means to us all. And more thoughts and ramblings.

  • What the Constitution says about impeachment and will it happen to President Trump
What does the Constitution say out about impeachment? Did President Trump commit an act that rises to the level of impeachment? If he does get impeached, then what? Today I talk to Professor Rob Natelson, a man widely recognized as the foremost expert in our country on the original meaning of the Constitution, and the intent of the Founders. Rob discusses what the Constitution says about impeachment, and puts it into the context of the era, and the precedents of impeachment in Great Britain going back 500 years. Rob gives his thoughts on whether or not what President Trump is being accused of is truly an impeachable offense, and what happens if the House does impeach him, how things will be run in the Senate during his trial, the offenses committed by other Presidents who were impeached, and much more.

Listen as Marty Hartman, the force of nature running Mary's Place in Seattle, describes the innovative approaches they’ve developed with Starbucks, Amazon and others to assist families to secure housing and ensure no child sleeps outside. • Welfare - modern slavery?
Does welfare help or hurt those who receive it? I think the only way to answer that is to talk to those who've experienced it. So today I talk to Damon Dunn, a man who grew up on welfare as a child but thanks to hard work, good grades, and football, he got out. Listen to why he calls welfare "modern slavery", how anyone can break the chains of poverty, his view of our education system, and what he's doing to help others make it to college like he did.

As the final show in the series on the doctors who've helped me back to health, I interview Dr. Andrew Rostenberg who specializes in a new, cutting edge DNA test that showed my body had a hard time absorbing B vitamins - a problem tens of millions of other Americans have as well and don't know it. This test, and the simple change in my vitamins, have been key to my feeling better, having more energy, and being able to think again. Dr. Rostenberg explains how easy it is to get the test, and what it might reveal - another simple step to better health. This is Part 4 in my Doctor Series.

  • The drugging of our vets - a veteran speaks out about what happened to him
He was a U.S. Army Paratrooper and Artillery Forward Observer when he was injured in the line of duty and medically retired. Telling his story for the first time, Sergeant James Kelly details the troubles he had coming out of the military, what the multiple psychotropic and opioid drugs he was prescribed did to him, the day he decided to end it all, his cold turkey violent withdrawal from the meds, what he saw happening to other vets, the best gift his son ever gave him (also a vet), and the non-medical approach he's adopted today. An incredibly harrowing, medicated journey that no vet should have to endure.
