  • From Mess to masterpiece
The sermon explores the narrative of Joseph and his brothers in Genesis 42, illustrating how God uses hardship to bring about unity and reconciliation within the family of God. By referencing Romans 8:28-29, the message emphasizes that God is actively conforming believers to the image of Christ, a process that often involves refining trials and the exposure of past sins. The preacher highlights the theme of accountability, noting that the brothers' confinement forces them to confront their guilt and recognize the consequences of their previous betrayal of Joseph. This spiritual maturation is presented as a necessary step toward true repentance and change, demonstrated by the brothers' eventual defense of Benjamin. The tone is pastoral and encouraging, urging the congregation to trust God's sovereign work in their lives, maintain unity within the church, and rely on the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth of their hearts.

  • Father and Son at Work
Preaching from John 5:19-30, Pastor Rockhill addresses the modern skeptical charge that Jesus never claimed to be God. His central burden is to show that although Christ never uttered the exact words "I am God," both His works and His words plainly reveal His divine nature to any audience familiar with the Old Testament Scriptures. Pastor Rockhill traces how Jesus, having healed on the Sabbath, deepens rather than softens the claim of His deity. The Son does nothing apart from the Father, not as a mere puppet but in willing, loving submission, for the Father and the Son are one God. Their common work flows from a perfect, mutual love. Jesus then claims two works that belonged to God alone: giving life and executing final judgment. As the fountain of life, the Son grants eternal life to whom He will, raising the spiritually dead through the Word applied by the Spirit, and as the Son of Man of Daniel 7 He is the perfect, righteous Judge of all the earth. He unfolds the sovereignty of God in salvation, showing the one work of the triune God in regenerating sinners, and points to the coming resurrection with its two outcomes, life or condemnation. Pastor Rockhill closes with a searching pastoral appeal built on the two calls of the Son: the gracious gospel call to repent and believe today, and the sober summons to stand before the Judge at the last day. Far better, he urges, to hear Christ's voice now in faith and pass from death into everlasting life for the glory of God alone.

  • Encouragement In A Day of Discouragement
This sermon offers a pastoral message of encouragement to believers facing discouragement and cultural apostasy, grounding their hope in the sovereign work of the Trinity. The central theme is the security of the believer, derived from the past act of new birth through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which provides a lively hope. The text highlights the present reality of an incorruptible, undefiled, and unfading inheritance reserved in heaven, contrasting it with the temporary nature of earthly possessions. It concludes with the future assurance that believers are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation, emphasizing that the same God who preserves the inheritance is capable of preserving the believer until the final revelation of their glory.

  • The Time Is At Hand
The sermon centers on Titus 1:3, emphasizing that God manifested His word through preaching in the appointed time, which is now urgent as the end draws near. The speaker argues that the preaching of the cross is not foolishness but the power of God, distinguishing the spiritual transaction of redemption from mere religious symbols or human wisdom. By referencing Acts 17 and 1 Corinthians 1, the message highlights that while the world may mock or seek signs, the gospel remains the sole means of salvation for both Jews and Greeks. The tone is convicting and urgent, challenging believers to recognize their role as witnesses who must actively share the good news rather than passively coexist with a lost world. The sermon concludes with a call to immediate response, urging listeners to accept Christ or deepen their walk with Him before the opportunity passes.

  • The Promise of a Glorious Future, Part 2
The sermon examines the theological relationship between Old Testament Israel and the New Covenant church by analyzing Hosea 1:10-2:1 through the lens of Romans 9. It argues that the promise of a glorious future is not fulfilled in a future national restoration of ethnic Israel, but rather in the present gathering of believers from all nations into the body of Christ. The text presents God's sovereignty in election, distinguishing between the children of the flesh and the children of the promise, to demonstrate that the church is the expansion of true Israel rather than its replacement. This interpretation rejects dispensationalist views of a separate future role for ethnic Israel, asserting instead that the gospel must be preached to all people groups, including Jews, as the means of their salvation. The sermon concludes with a call for believers to recognize their status as vessels of mercy, to guard against spiritual unfaithfulness, and to actively pursue the Great Commission.

  • The Plenteous Harvest
This sermon explores the metaphor of the spiritual harvest found in Matthew 9, focusing on Christ's compassionate heart for lost sinners who are described as sheep without a shepherd. The central message emphasizes that the harvest of souls is plenteous and ready for gathering, urging believers to view the world with hope rather than despair. It highlights the urgency of the mission, noting that while the harvest is abundant, laborers are few, and calls for earnest prayer for God to send those commissioned to preach the gospel. The tone is pastoral and exhortative, encouraging both ministers and laypeople to labour together in the work of salvation, reminding them that this is the primary business of the Lord of the Harvest.
