  • Alive In Christ – Part 6
The sermon addresses objections to the doctrine of election and God's sovereignty, clarifying that while God has a particular, drawing love for the elect, He also genuinely offers salvation to all humanity. By examining passages such as Romans 9 and Matthew 22, the text distinguishes between God's general goodness to creation and His specific redemptive purpose, refuting the idea that divine election negates the sincerity of the gospel invitation. The speaker emphasizes that understanding God's absolute sovereignty does not hinder evangelism but rather grounds the believer in the assurance that salvation rests entirely on God's grace rather than human merit. Personal testimony illustrates how the doctrine of election breaks down self-reliance and leads to a humble reliance on Christ alone for salvation. Ultimately, the teaching asserts that election provides the foundation for Christian assurance, ensuring that those chosen by God will be kept safe in His hands.

  • Exegetical Fallacies / Part-9
This message is from the Sovereign Outreach 4 Grace / SO4G 2026 Saturday Sermon/Lesson Series - Sermon Audio Broadcast Series. This message was delivered by SO4G Director, Brother Douglas Salyer at the SO4G office in Paintsville, Kentucky. This series we will be looking at passages or even theological concepts within the Scriptures in which men have used such verses out of context, misinterpreted, over the years. The title of this sermon/lesson was 'Exegetical Fallacies / Part-9'. This lesson continues on with the misconception that there's something you can do to be born again. Then it gives the reason why salvation is a work of Monergism, a Sovereign work by the will of God. This reason is human depravity, our total utter inability to come to God on our own outside of His grace and sovereign work of regeneration. This lesson continues to build on the doctrines of total depravity / total inability and adding to this discourse the doctrine of unconditional election. The key texts that were used were from 1 Peter 1:1-9, as well as various other texts.

  • Participation in God's Providence | Ruth 3
The sermon explores the doctrine of providence through the narrative of Ruth, emphasizing that human participation is essential to living under God's sovereign care. It argues against passivity by highlighting the biblical tension between trusting in God's direction and exercising diligent planning and initiative. Through examples from Proverbs and the story of Ruth, the text illustrates that wisdom involves taking responsibility for one's actions while maintaining integrity and patience during waiting seasons. The central message encourages believers to actively pursue wise decisions and faithful obedience rather than using divine sovereignty as an excuse for laziness or sin. Ultimately, it calls for a balanced life where trust in God's faithfulness coexists with responsible human effort.

  • Learning from the Psalms (5)
Pastor Mark Hogan teaches on the biblical practice of lament in prayer, drawing from the Psalms to show that prayer is the God-ordained place to bring afflictions, burdens, and disorienting circumstances. He expounds four key commands: Psalm 37:5 (commit/roll your way onto the Lord), Psalm 50:15 (call upon God in trouble), Psalm 55:22 (cast your burden on the Lord), and Psalm 62:8 (pour out your heart before God). He then demonstrates how the psalmists exemplify this, citing David's language of complaint and trouble in Psalms 55:2, 64:1, 77:1, 86:7, 102, 120, and 142, where he pours out his complaint and declares his trouble. The practical application is that Christians facing sickness, financial troubles, betrayal, or spiritual discouragement should obey these commands by bringing their honest, emotional burdens to God in prayer rather than obsessing or complaining primarily to others. Lament is meant to lead to renewed trust in God's goodness, as seen in the psalmists' closing statements of trust. Hogan closes with the hymn "What a Friend We Have in Jesus," emphasizing the privilege of carrying everything to God in prayer.

  • Why Romans Matters Now
Why does the book of Romans matter, and why do Christians need its message today? Romans gives us a clear, ordered, and Spirit-inspired explanation of the gospel of God. It reveals the holiness and righteousness of God, exposes the universal guilt of sinners, declares justification by faith alone in Christ alone, and explains how the grace that saves also transforms the lives of God's people. In this introductory sermon to the Romans: The Gospel That Changes Everything series, Dave Jenkins provides an overview of the major themes of Romans. He considers the depth of human sin, the righteousness of Christ, union with Christ, life in the Holy Spirit, the sovereign mercy of God, and the gospel-shaped life of the church. Romans brings clarity in a confused age because it directs us away from human effort, cultural approval, and self-righteousness and brings us to Jesus Christ alone. The book of Romans is not merely a theological work to be mastered. It is the Word of God, given to humble, comfort, correct, strengthen, and transform God's people through the gospel. • The Bitter Taste of Providence | Ruth 1
This sermon explores the doctrine of God's providence through the lens of Ruth chapter 1, emphasizing that divine care often includes difficult and painful seasons. The preacher identifies five aspects of this 'bitter taste': God's chastisement for sin, the consequences of foolish decisions, shattered expectations, the pain of regretful returns, and partial blindness to future blessings. Rather than viewing suffering as evidence of God's absence, the message argues that trials serve a sanctifying purpose, pruning believers to conform them to the image of Christ. The central call is to trust in God's sovereign goodness even when circumstances appear hostile, finding refuge under His wings amidst life's inevitable hardships.
