  • Jesus: Son of Man With Glory & Honor
This sermon describes the key, biblical teaching about Jesus in His deity and humanity. The author of Hebrews cites Psalm 8:4-6 from the Greek OT and applies it to both humans as "son of man" and Jesus as the "Son of Man." In the original creation, the non-human creation was subjected to Adam as the first man. Psalm 8 comments on that. Jesus in His incarnation is man who is "a little lower than angels." The comment on this within Hebrews speaks of the "not yet" of God's promises. Adam as man sinned and lost his status and was left with death and the fallen creation. Jesus as the last Adam subjected Himself to suffering and death to make possible the future glorification of man. Jesus has been crowned with glory and honor in His exaltation to the right hand of God. He is the supreme "Son of Man" who is the promised Messiah. He suffered on behalf of fallen man so that those who believe in Him are promised to be brought into God's presence. We do not now "see" all things subjected to man, but we "see," through the eyes of faith, Jesus crowned with glory and honor. We must believe God's promises concerning the 'not yet' future of man and know we will participate in final victory.

  • Lot: A Picture of the Worldly Christian
The sermon contrasts the faithful obedience of Abraham with the gradual spiritual decline of Lot, presenting him as a cautionary example of the worldly Christian. It argues that worldliness is not an overnight event but the cumulative result of small, seemingly insignificant choices that slowly pull a believer's heart away from God. By prioritizing material prosperity and worldly associations over divine guidance, Lot lost his testimony, his faith, and ultimately his joy. The message warns believers to examine their own lives for subtle compromises and to remain steadfast in pursuing God rather than the temporary pleasures of the world.

  • Laying Down Liberty (Part 3)
The sermon explores the concept of Christian liberty as presented in 1 Corinthians 9, emphasizing how believers must willingly set aside their rights to avoid hindering the gospel. It highlights Paul's decision to waive his financial support from the church, demonstrating that true freedom involves selfless service rather than personal gain. The preacher contrasts mere obedience to God's commands with the joy found in going beyond those obligations for the sake of others. This passage serves as a model for modern Christians to examine their own lives and identify areas where they might need to sacrifice comfort or preference to effectively witness to the lost. Ultimately, the message encourages believers to exercise their freedom with humility and love, prioritizing the spiritual growth of others over personal privilege.

  • The Ever-Seeking Lord
Pastor Brian's sermon explores the parable of the lost sheep to reveal God's exhaustive and loving pursuit of every individual. It contrasts the lies about God's character with the biblical truth that He actively seeks the lost rather than waiting for them to find Him. The speaker emphasizes that salvation is available to all people, highlighting Jesus' mission to save those who are spiritually perishing. Believers are called to participate in this divine pursuit by sharing the gospel, living righteous lives, and praying for opportunities to witness. Ultimately, the message encourages a deep appreciation for God's joy over the repentance of sinners and a commitment to fulfilling the Great Commission.

  • A Word for the Ministers of the Covenant
Having focused upon the people of God generally, (Isaiah 40:12-31), we now turn to the Leaders, the preachers of the new covenant, (Jeremiah 31:31-34; Hebrews 10:16-18). They also must not faint nor lost heart. They must Keep Preaching the true word, not handling it deceitfully. In all their trials, perplexity and persecution they must Keep Depending upon the power of God. Even when the body is wasting away they must Keep Focusing upon the things which are eternal. Our pain is by comparison with eternity, "but for a moment."
