Story Transcript:

Cy: Ar y promenâd glan môr yn Aberystwyth, roedd hin yn dal dŵr fel roced.
En: On the seaside promenade in Aberystwyth, it was raining heavily like a rocket.

Cy: Roedd y noson yn wanwynol, ond roedd dewdr hon yn drwm ac annisgwyl.
En: The night felt spring-like, but this rainstorm was heavy and unexpected.

Cy: Y maen nhw ddechrau cerdded pan gododd Gareth ei lygaid o’i llyfrau dysgu, gan barod i gymryd saib.
En: They began walking when Gareth lifted his eyes from his study books, ready to take a break.

Cy: Roedd ei meddwl yn llawn o bryderon am y dyfodol.
En: His mind was full of concerns about the future.

Cy: Ar yr un pryd, roedd Carys yn symud yn gyflym gyda’i chamera, ei thandra mewn llaw, yn gobeithio taw’r glaw fydd yn ei ysbrydoli.
En: At the same time, Carys was moving quickly with her camera, her tripod in hand, hoping the rain would inspire her.

Cy: Roedd hi’n gobeithio dod o hyd i’r llun perffaith i’w gyflwyno mewn cystadleuaeth.
En: She hoped to find the perfect photograph to submit in a competition.

Cy: Roedd y seagulls yn siglo fry uwch eu pen, a’r awyr yn llawn arogl y môr.
En: The seagulls were swaying above their heads, and the air was filled with the scent of the sea.

Cy: Roedd Gareth yn cerdded ar draws Garej Parc pan wnaeth y glaw faeddu mwy trwchus.
En: Gareth was walking across the parking garage when the rain fell more heavily.

Cy: Cario’i lyfrau yn ei gôt, bu’n rhaid iddo redeg am gysgod.
En: Carrying his books in his coat, he had to run for shelter.

Cy: Ochr arall y stryd, roedd Carys yr un mor gyflym i ddianc rhag y glaw.
En: On the other side of the street, Carys was just as quick to escape the rain.

Cy: Cyrhaedd ieu cysgod ar y promenade, fe gollasant y gwynt a secstre'r glaw.
En: Once they reached shelter on the promenade, they lost the wind and the sting of the rain.

Cy: Ar y funud roeddent yn wynebu'r boblogaeth, ar ochr arall un arall gyda’r glaw yn difetha arnynt.
En: In that moment, they faced the crowd, on the other side of each other with the rain spoiling them.

Cy: “Mae’n beth gwych, ydy o?” meddai Carys, yn gwenud ac yn tynnu gwaed fain yn gwledigrant fel cynnyfent yn ngrym hon o galon.
En: “Isn’t it great?” Carys said, smiling and drawing thin bloodlines as if challenging as she’d ever had from the heart’s might.

Cy: Roedd Gareth yn chwerthin mewn cydsynio. “Ychydig yn wlyb, ond mae’r profiad princef.”
En: Gareth laughed in agreement. “A bit wet, but the experience is priceless.”

Cy: Roedd Gareth wedi arfer cadw iddo’i hun, ond roedd rhywbeth ynglŷn â Carys a oedd yn gallu ei orfodi i siarad.
En: Gareth was used to keeping to himself, but there was something about Carys that compelled him to talk.

Cy: “Iach, dwi’n chwilio am rywbeth hefyd,” egluriodd, ei lygaid yn cwrdd â’i hen sy ‘n dangos gobaith.
En: “Well, I’m searching for something too,” he explained, his eyes meeting hers, showing hope.

Cy: “Dwi’n ceisio gwneud penderfyniad am fy mywyd, a beth i’w ddysgu.”
En: “I’m trying to make a decision about my life, and what to study.”

Cy: Cynhyrfodd y glaw eu sgwrs, ond nid oedd hynny’n eu rhwystro.
En: The rain encouraged their conversation, but it didn’t stop them.

Cy: Wrth iddynt sgwrsio, gwnaeth Gareth sylweddoli ei fod eisoes yn gwybod beth oedd ei eisiau; roedd angen iddo ddilyn ei angerdd.
En: As they talked, Gareth realized he already knew what he wanted; he needed to follow his passion.

Cy: Ar yr un pryd, dechreuodd Carys weld ei lluniau newydd yn dod i’r amlwg: Aberystwyth yn y glaw—rhywbeth eithriadol yn y gwlypwaith wrth y môr.
En: At the same time, Carys began to see her new images emerge: Aberystwyth in the rain—something extraordinary in the seaside wetness.

Cy: Gyda llun gwell yn ei hawyr enedigol yn awr, roedd Carys yn teimlo bod ganddi rywbeth arbennig i’r gystadleuaeth.
En: With a clearer vision now in her birthplace, Carys felt she had something special for the competition.

Cy: Wedi addo i’w gilydd ffeindiau newydd, gadawodd y ddau’r amgylchedd dan gymynwriaeth gwyntiau newydd.
En: Having promised each other new friendships, they both left the environment under the command of new winds.

Cy: Roedd Gareth yn llawn sicweithdra yn ei ddyfodol a Carys yn benderfynol i ddal ei lluniau glan môr.
En: Gareth was filled with certainty about his future, and Carys was determined to capture her seaside photographs.

Cy: Felly, wrth i’r glaw gau i mewn, gadawodd y ddau eu safle; Gareth yn barod i gyflwyno ymdrech i gasglu hwyl ar gyfer ei waith a Carys yn anelu i’r gystadleuaeth efo heb-gysegred â’i chasgliad.
En: So, as the rain closed in, they left their places; Gareth ready to embark on a mission to gather joy for his work and Carys aiming for the competition with her unique collection.

Cy: Daeth Aberystwyth yn faes eu cyfarfyddiad hapus a chyfryngau gwag yn coflynu’r llawenydd dan yr afon.
En: Aberystwyth became the scene of their happy encounter, and empty media recorded the joy under the river.
