In 1925, experienced mountaineer and man of science Prof. John Norman Collie gave a lecture to a climbing club in the Scottish Highlands. 

Concluding his talk, Collie told his stunned audience that he believed there was something very strange stalking the highest peak of the local Cairngorm's mountain range. Something that had so frightened him, he would never go back there again...
