For generations, the children of Staten Island, NY heard haunting tales of a local boogeyman: A deranged psychopath who escaped the nearby mental hospital who would murder innocent children with his decrepit hook hand. These stories were meant to act as warnings for local children to avoid being out alone after dark.

But ghost stories and boogeymen aren’t real right? Well that’s what locals believed, however that belief changed when children began dissapearing in the 1980’s leading to the question…
