3-25 Kari Martindale Show Notes

In this episode, Marybeth and Deb are excited to interview poet and spoken word artist Kari Martindale! Kari has performed across the country and at the White House.

She has been published in a number of literary journals and anthologies, earned an honorable mention in the 2024 annual Writer’s Digest Writing Competition, and been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net. She sits on the Board of Maryland Writers’ Association and is former co-editor of their literary journal, Pen-in-Hand.

Kari was a writer-in-residence at Château d’Orquevaux in Orquevaux, France, in January 2024, where she and Marybeth met. She has served on literary judging panels for Maryland State Arts Council and Poetry Out Loud, as a volunteer judge for annual slam competitions, and on selection committees for poetry contests and anthologies. She is an instructor for Armed Services Arts Partnership.
