Episode 1: In today’s episode, we’re joined by Bachelor of Health Sciences (BHSc) student Maddison Tory, who shares her inspiring journey of transforming personal adversity into purpose-driven innovation. Diagnosed with a chronic illness, Maddison used her lived experience to create HUG & Spoons Co., a clothing line designed to bring comfort, dignity, and empowerment to chronically ill individuals.

With support from the Hunter Hub for Entrepreneurial Thinking, Maddison accessed resources, mentorship, and startup programming that helped turn her idea into a growing business. Tune in as she discusses, the entrepreneurial mindset she’s developed, and how UCalgary’s BHSc program has allowed her to blend healthcare and innovation in meaningful ways.
