The AGELESS Series gives you tools, advice, and a METHOD to help you adopt an AGELESS Mindset and live a bigger, bolder life!
If you are striving to gain confidence, overcome obstacles on race courses and in your life, and age like an athlete - pay close attention to these episodes.
Part Four of The AGELESS Series covers the next step in Robin’s AGELESS Method: Empower Your Confidence!
An empowered mindset can be both a cause and an effect of living an AGELESS lifestyle. By pursuing big, bold goals, you may find yourself experiencing a boost in confidence that spreads out into all areas of your life.
Conversely, you may hold yourself back from taking on bold challenges if you don’t believe you have the ability or capability to do it.
So it’s important to work on your mental game from the start so you can open yourself up to achieve the goals you set for yourself…and experience the physical and, yes, mental and emotional benefits that come from achieving said goals.
In this episode, I share three key components to empowering your confidence
By putting these three tips into practice, you can take the steps toward empowering your confidence, which can lead to a life you never imagined for yourself. And can lead to your confidence doubling or tripling once you start feeling the effects of living an AGELESS life!

This is the newest episode of the THREE THINGS I’M DOING TO OVERCOME OBSTACLES RIGHT NOW series, featuring interviews with women athletes over 40 about how they’re managing the real-life obstacles they’re facing in this new world we’re in.
This episode features an interview with gym owner and personal trainer Stephanie Scott. Here’s what she shared:
1. VIEW OBSTACLES AS OPPORTUNITIES
Similar to what Marissa Axell talked about in the first episode, Stephanie reiterated that it helps to view obstacles as opportunities. Instead of looking at the doors as closing in your life - think of creative ways that you can open new doors.
2. USE THIS TIME TO RECONNECT
Since we are physically separated from friends and loved-ones during this time, Stephanie is using this time to go back to a lost art of communication - the phone. She’s finding comfort in simple telephone conversations with the people in her life.
3. GROW YOURSELF
There are more opportunities than ever to learn something new online. If there was ever something you wanted to do but weren’t able to do before, give it a quick internet search to see what resources are available online. Take this time to grow as a person and do something you’ve never done before!
In the nearly three years that Seasoned Athlete has been in existence, we have interviewed athletes ranging in age from 40-92 years old. In this episode, we talk to someone who now officially holds the new record for oldest athlete to be on the show. Meet 93-year old Richard “Monty” Montgomery, a Ft. Lauderdale-based army vet, retired firefighter, husband, father of two, grandfather of eight and great grandfather of two.
Monty is the definition of late in life athlete AND young at heart. He ran his first triathlon at 48, first marathon at 58, went skydiving at 75, hang gliding at 89, bungee for his 90th birthday and now he’s doing Spartan Races.
He has never met a challenge he isn’t willing to face!

Life is coming at us pretty quickly these days, and with that comes new obstacles that pop up in our path. This new world we're all navigating can often be hard to manage, and sometimes it can be downright overwhelming. This is why I decided to launch a new Facebook Live series on where I talk to women athletes over 40 to get their unique perspective on how they are overcoming the new obstacles they've been facing recently.
It's my hope that their stories, tips and advice can help give you some new perspective on how to overcome the obstacles that are unique to you and your life.
In the first episode, I interviewed competitive cyclist and fitness coach Marissa Axell. Here is what she shared:
1. BE ADAPTABLE, CREATIVE AND READY TO TAKE ACTION!
Marissa is a fitness coach, and she had to change her business model to fully online at a moment's notice. She didn't have time to make it perfect - she just needed to make it happen. She views this as an opportunity more than an obstacle. Now is not the time to hold back and wait for perfection - now is the time to try new things and make them happen!
2. CREATE ROUTINE AMID THE CHAOS!
Marissa swears by a morning and evening routine, and gives great examples of what to include. The sooner you can create daily routines in the new version of what your life looks like, the more calm and productive you will be!
3. RECONNECT WITH YOUR WHY!
Marissa has based a lot of her identity and happiness on being a competitive cyclist. With no competitions on the horizon, she was forced to re-evaluate her goals and reconnect with what got her into cycling in the first place: getting into nature, feeling the wind in her hair, and just the pure love of riding. And that's what keeps her motivated now. If your goals have been forced to shift, how can you reconnect with your why.

In this episode, 2019 Spartan North American Champion and chiropractor Ryan Woods talks about how and why he's transitioned from a track athlete and road racer to trail runner and elite OCR athlete. As someone who has performed at a high level for most of his life, Ryan shares tips he's learned along the way as he himself pivots toward a new phase of his career as an over 40 athlete.
We also talk about cats, which is definitely a first for Seasoned Athlete!

During the month of January, we are revisiting some of our most popular episodes of 2019. This episode was one of our most downloaded of the year and features Guinness World Record Holder and Cyclist Lynn Salvo.
You may have seen her story in an article that came out last year in the Wall Street Journal highlighting stories of women over 50 sharing stories of midlife reinvention. In this interview, Lynn talks about the big life changes she started making in her fifties that would lead the way to an extraordinary endeavor to ride the shape of a peace sign across North America. Learn how this came about and the why behind it as we revisit Lynn’s story once again.
