In this special episode of the podcast, we focus on film and TV to tie in with the Up North Film & TV Festival taking place at Square Chapel Arts Centre in Halifax throughout May.
We chat to the festival's curator, Dave Garratt and our film reviewers discuss some of the films being shown at the festival; A Taste of Honey (1961), Eaten By Lions (2018), Sightseers (2012), Looking for Eric (2009), Saturday Night & Sunday Morning (1960) and Pond Life (2017).
We visit Shibden Hall, former home of Anne Lister, to chat to the staff about their experiences of working with the production team behind the BBC's Gentleman Jack, to the location manager of Channel 4's Ackley Bridge which is filmed in Halifax and to the tourism team at Calderdale Council about how they encourage and exploit local film and television production.
Finally, we ask local filmmaker Christian Wilkinson to tell us about his new documentary film Halilapse which is being premiered at the Up North Festival.
